I'm cool with Soto ending up in either Boston or Toronto. We wouldn't have to worry about him, and he'd go to Yankee divisional rivals. :yeshrug:
I would be surprised if Soto chose Toronto.

He really seemed to love the energy of playing in New York. Signing with Toronto seems like it would be a step down for him in terms of the market and vibe and his status as a superstar/face of the game.

It's one thing to pass on the Yankees.
It's another thing to pass on the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and Red Sox.

I just don't know how Toronto pays for both Soto and Vlad. Vlad alone is a reason for Soto to consider them.

In theory, Rodgers has the money for both, but if they were going to throw around money, you'd think they would have extended Vlad by now before trying to sign free agents.

:snoop: This is a stupid fukking idea, please don't let it come to fruition

This kind of thing would mean every game deserves an asterisk.

This idea is more asterisk-worthy than even PED era HR records.

Imagine it's based loaded in the 9th and Maikel Garcia is up. But no. You can actually call up Bobby Witt Jr instead.

Shenanigans.

Unfortunately that's the point. To grab casuals like this guy

Imagine with 1 out you strike out Witt only for him to come right back up with this rule? Now you gotta get him out 2 straight times.

Casuals need to realize two things:

From the 7th inning on, everyone's gonna bat one more time regardless.

and when it comes to baseball, the moment finds you.

Can you imagine your pitching staff has worked their backs off to get through the opponent's lineup, limiting the damage, you burned your best reliever, you have a small lead going late into the game, etc. etc. etc.

You did allllll that work, and they got runners on 1st and 3rd, two out, the #9 hitter coming up, your bullpen about to close it out....

But no, here comes Ohtani to bat ONCE AGAIN :mjlol:

This is a response to casuals who turn on a baseball game, see the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, 2 out, and Mike Trout is in the dugout watching because it's not his turn :mjlol:

f*ck it, lets just create a "rule" where we can see the best hitters up at the plate in big spots, completely sh*tting on the pitching and defensive side of the game, a big F*** YOU to the other team who worked their ass off to retire their best hitter...
