I know @tremonthustler1 don’t want to here it but the dodgers won cuz of how so deep they were

Yankees can add a lot to the roster they need legit defenders all over the field they need relievers and a few starting pitchers

I know he’s 25 and has a lot of great seasons but I see see a similar downfall to Pujols

We know once they let these super billionaires in shyt was gonna get spooky

Now bezos Cuban ass needs to buy the marlins :aicmon:

I always feel the need to push back on the narrative that Albert Pujols sucked with the Angels.

It's true he declined. But I read some things over the years that said Pujols was one of the most affected players by the extreme defensive shifts that happened in the 2nd half of his career.

Maybe that impact is overblown. I'm not sure. But I feel the need to mention it.

To be fair the shift killed him the new rules he have done better

I also think he played through injuries at times to live up to his contract

I would say bonds as well, I think it started with him in the first place

I really thought Pujols was going to have a shot to break the HR record, but he really broke down at the end of his career. Looking at the list. Bonds played until he was 42.

Stanton's the current active leader at 429 and is 35 he would need to average 48 HR/Yr to break by 42 and he's a 42 a year guy according to baseball reference.

Judge is 32 if he plays 10 more years he would need to hold at least a 45 HR a year average to break it. Baseball reference currently gives him 51 a year seems he's the first active player with a real shot to break Bonds record.

Harper also 32 if he plays 10 more years he would need to hold at least a 43 HR/Yr to break it. Baseball Ref currently gives him 33 a year so he's likely out.
Manny also 32 if he plays 10 more years he would need to hold at least a 42 HR/Yr to break it. His current average is 32 a year so he's likely out.

Trout's a what if cause he's 33 and appears he will never be healthy again. He would need to beat his current career total of 378 by 8 hrs in the next 9 years. Clearly he's out. Crazy he's just like Griffey man.
