Besides his fall off in his 30s, why do you feel Andruw Jones shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame? @Remote
Andruw Jones clearly got on the juice at some point and I'm not sure that without it his resume would be as strong.

He was elite defensively for a time but I'm not sure that would have been enough. His offensive years helped boost him a bit.

Not saying I oppose Andruw Jones election. I just don't feel strong about it.

He wasn't Rey Ordoñez, who was good defensively but useless offensively.

I definitely remember his name being thrown out for guys on roids. Fair point.

As for the defense, if it was enough for Ozzie Smith, why wouldn't it be enough for Andruw Jones? CF is a premium defensive position just like SS. Jones also had some terrible LF/RF defenders next to him. His range was INSANE!

You know I'm biased being a Braves fan but you usually make good arguments. Just want your opinion.

Not predicting a breakout but I won't be surprised if one of the following players elevates their game in 2025:

Brandon Pfaadt
Hunter Brown
MacKenzie Gore

And to a lesser extent, Bailey Ober.
I like Ober more than Gore, but he's older and his ceiling probably isn't as high.

At least with Lincecum and Santana, they had injuries and fell off and had a lot of mid seasons.

Hernandez finished top ten in cy young voting six times. He was pretty consistent throughout his career until the end with the injuries. He is probably a HOFer if he has two more years.

Hernandez threw alot of innings at a young age and became washed at 30 because of it

I agree on Andru Jones not being a HOFer and I was a huge Jones fans. His defense was outta this world.

However I still feel he underachieved. His offense was inconsistent. Struck out alot. In his prime batted around .260

I'm just not sure. I just feel he could have been so much better

Ozzie Smith is in the Hall of Fame because of his defense. Why shouldn't Andrew Jones?

He debuted at 19. Was the youngest player to hit a HR in a World Series. I can't defend his drop off in his 30s but his time in Atlanta was good enough.

Ozzie Smith hit .262 for his career and he's in the Hall of Fame. I'm not trying to diminish Ozzie either.
