Those milestones are great but teams are trying to win games.
Maybe to some degree Verlander and Scherzer have earned the right to stick around, but they probably don't deserve to be starters based on actual performance these days.

Who the fukk is Jackson Jobe and why has he been under my radar?
Because this kid could be something
I'm sure some of you will dismiss me as the pessimistic Tigers fan. That's fair, but I didn't love what I saw from Jobe in his brief stint after getting called up at the end of the season. He throws hard but he didn't fool anybody; not a lot of swings and misses.
I don't have a list in front of me but when these fireballers get called up late in a season, most of these guys have a lot of success because hitters don't pick them up well and don't know what to expect. It was the opposite with Jobe. His minor league numbers aren't mind blowing either. Not a crazy strikeout percentage and his SO/BB ratio isn't what you'd expect from someone with his arm talent.
Doesn't mean he can't turn into a stud but there's some red flags, imo.
Tigers fans are excited because they have seven guys in the Top 100 lists. I'm vocally on the record about prospects and rankings. Get back to me when they do it in the Bigs.
Wasn't that long ago Spencer Torkelson and Casey Mize were near the top of these rankings.
