If it were up to me,

I would only elect A-Rod, Manny...and maybe Andruw Jones. But I'm very on the fence on Jones.

That’s crazy that Felix Hernandez isn’t a HOFer. He was great for so many years but his numbers don’t match up.

Felix Hernandez is a little forgotten for his greatness.

Same with Johan Santana and Tim Lincecum.

At least with Lincecum and Santana, they had injuries and fell off and had a lot of mid seasons.

Hernandez finished top ten in cy young voting six times. He was pretty consistent throughout his career until the end with the injuries. He is probably a HOFer if he has two more years.

Looking at old Cy Young winners...

In 1996, Pat Hentgen won it over Andy Pettitte.
At the time, I remember arguing hard that it was wrong and voters were just hating on a Yankee.

Then I realized later that Hentgen threw like 40 more innings and had an ERA a half run lower.

Sometimes the voters get it right.

.885 OPS
332 HR
1,287 RBI
2,134 HITS

Not in the Hall of Fame.

Those are Moises Alou's numbers.
Crazy how good some guys were...but not good enough.

Notable players with a .900 career OPS who are not in the baseball Hall of Fame:

Brian Giles
Jim Edmonds
Juan Gonzalez
Mo Vaughn
Gary Sheffield
Jason Giambi
Carlos Delgado

You were biased as fukk lol

I haven’t looked at the numbers since, but I think Petite’s only claim was winning like 25 games.

Ozzie Smith is in the Hall of Fame for his defense, Andruw Jones should be in for his defense as well.
:hubie:
He'd be the first from Curacao, I think.

I will say this...when the Braves went up 2-0 in that 96 World Series and Jones hit those 2 HR...I do clearly remember thinking ...who the fukk is THIS GUY?

Because I didn't know anything about him. Maybe just ignorance but in those days you didn't see coverage of that many players. Interleague play wasn't a thing yet. I don't think.

Felix Hernandez also debuted in the majors at 19. He also threw over 200 innings for 8 straight seasons starting at age 22. Hernandez played for some terrible Seattle teams too.

For comparison, Lincecum only threw over 200 innings 4 times in 10 seasons. Santana only threw over 200 innings 5 times in 12 seasons. Hernandez pitched for 15 seasons.
