i'm still ambivalent about BK...he didn't really play football at a high level, so he can get fooled when hiring coordinators who can talk a good game in the interview process or is judged to have 'high character' but can't coach for shyt...at least louisiana is bringing the cajun out of BK that he didn't know he had by hard pressing people and saying things as they are instead of sugar coating it for conservative midwest sensitive ears...so when a HC gets mad for not scouting coaches correctly before hiring them and then making those same coaches fix things beyond what they are capable of, that's BK
unlike bama's budget, saban can hire a bunch of analysts who were fired as coaches the year prior and promote them as OC because saban is defensive minded and bama-ball didn't come out the stone age if it wasn't for kiffin and sark, and the offence took a dip this year because saban has retirement on his mind and stopped freaking out on the sidelines and started smiling more for the press conferences...LSU's budget is there when needed from oil money but is still limited because the damn state doesn't tax the corporations making money around here, so we gotta find coaching talent when they are younger or just gotten past a scandal and less expensive to hire, like what kiffin does at ole miss, and putting less emphasis on 'prestige' and experience, which can be expensive
but BK can eventually figure it out thru weaselly permutation, like back when he was at ND and he canceled their michigan rivalry so ND has a very selected cupcake schedule as a shoo-in to the college championship game/playoffs while dodging clemson in the ACC championship game by staying independent and being perfect just to get blown out by bama in 2012 and clemson in 2018....or how he got student tutors to go rogue and cheat for everett golson....or how 2 kids randomly died relating to ND football but the news got swept under the rug like any deep southern football school if it wasn't for northern reporters doing their job
and ND is a weird catholic school with football fanaticism...imagine that marcus freeman, a black HC, has to get baptized to coach for ND, where his previous losses before he became catholic didn't count, smh...the OC who went back to ND probably had more precedence over faith than football

back when les miles was sleepwalking as a HC (when we learned later that he was being a womanizer during this time and we vacated a bunch of wins due to title 9 and ineligible players), we had leonard fournette where he could bully people into getting a 1st down and we still lost against ND
...BK had his team ready and we thought that ND was going to be a pushover bowl win. BK can randomly figure shyt out and surprise you (like ND being a hard school to get into and their athletes have to have high grades to be eligible, but BK used the catholic faith and the movie Rudy to recruit for talent to play for the golden domers that would have otherwise went to any other big time football school with no strong religious affiliations) but it takes him a while because he didn't play the game at a very high level and he has negative publicity in the coaching circles unlike how jim harbaugh can just ask his brother john at the ravens for coordinator hires for whenever he needs help despite having awkward tendencies, etc
given that LSU is a state school and athletes can really put school on the backburner while they ball out, BK is basically here to raise the graduation rate and academic levels of LSU mirroring the methods set at ND as a priority to life after football (instead of throwing young players' lives away the minute they can't play ball and they can't graduate) and then coach football to continue this non-losing season streak ever since nick saban was here in 2000, so we're fine that he's here as long as he doesn't have a losing season that coach O's coach-hiring blunders didn't even do, i guess
