Because depending on the GM, they don't value or care about their 2nd rounder to begin with. A lot of GMs have zero intention of using or developing their 2nd rounder. This became apparent to me when we had a bunch of coach-GMs in the league a few years back.

I hope Detroit takes the no brainer #1 pick man. Cade wants to go to Detroit, Green wants to go to Houston, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
