What does he do at an NBA level outside of defense?
His ball handling, passing and quickness is pretty special and he isn't a great 3 point shooter yet but his midrange game and ability to finish is nice. Great in the pick n roll just a good all around PG. And ppl keep talking about Deni's IQ but I've watched a ton of both him and Madar and Yam's is better. Which is understandable since he's a PG. And he's only 19 too so obviously not a finished project, you have to project like you have to with Deni.

  • Nifty ball handler with high-level footwork who changes speeds and pace to generate space.
  • Crafty finisher around the basket who can hit layups and floaters from awkward angles; his touch is just as soft with his left hand as with his right.
  • Intuitive passer who uses his eyes to manipulate defenders, creating passing lanes to cutters or spot-up shooters. The flashy plays he makes—like no-look or over-the-head passes—are made with intention.
  • Great feel all around: He’s always moving, makes smart decisions, adjusts when he needs to, and plays hard on defense.
  • Hard-nosed on-ball defender who has quickness laterally, stays in his stance, and fights over screens; few players his age are so advanced on defense.
  • Physical defender against larger players on a switch; if he gets posted up, a coach might even feel comfortable enough to not send a double-team.
  • Aware off-ball defender who disrupts passing lanes, rotates, and recovers well.
He just needs to get physically stronger and continue to work on his jump shot but he's not gonna have to be a high volume 3 point shooter with his mid range and ability to finish inside.

I watched a lot of their games live. I don't see ball-handling at all. The passing is okay but at an NBA level you really really gotta be athletic if you aren't much of a scorer or shooter, extremely streaky, and just doesn't have good size. His quickness is good for Europe but he's several tiers below Shane Larkin in terms of quickness and Shane wasn't athletic enough to make it in the NBA. I see him as a G-Leauger starter with the potential to become a role player down the road when he builds consistency with his 3pt shooter and becomes more of a 3&D type of PG. I think he would do better staying in the EuroLeague at this stage of his career.

Mader has a nice game, but I don't know if it's going to translate into the NBA. At his size, you need to be about to shoot/score at a high level to crack a rotation, and he hasn't shown that ability, as of yet. Since his game resembles Tony Parker's, it's not really a style of play that's relevant in today's climate either.

Wolves should take Anthony Edwards and it’s a no brainer.
:ld: a logjam of wings and your eventual starting backcourt being composed of two guys who aren't great facilitators and can be selfish scorers :ld:
I feel like if you drop that roster onto an ideal franchise, they can sketch out a winning 9 man rotation, but even then, I don't think it'd get you a championship. But I suppose you could stay pat and wait until these next few stacked drafts to start wheeling

They got a very workable situation, let me say that...I just don't know they're the franchise that can work it
A lot of people think Edwards will have upside as a defender due to his height and build. On the Wolves and Warriors he won't be asked to carry the offensive load that he carried at Georgia so he may have hope on the defensive end at those locations in particular.

Personally I can't tell how good he really is at this point. He's definitely not the most impressive #1 prospect I've ever seen, but I don't think he'll flop either.
I think I said in here before, but the few harden comps I've seen work just bc of this.... defensive effort. He can probably be a plus defender in the Dubs system after long enough.

Lol ball handling is one of his strengths, he keeps the ball on a string. Not sure which team/player you were watching. He is extremely quick, it doesn't matter if he can't jump that high as long as he can stay in front of his man and get steals. He's a great finisher inside and great off the pick and roll so once he's 100% confident in his jumper he's not gonna have to rely on being a 3 point shooter. Larkin is 5'11'', Yam is 6'2'-6'3'' and growing.. he just needs to keep physically maturing. Obviously Yam isn't a sure thing he might not even get drafted but he has the talent and I like what I hear from him in interviews. I think he's gonna make it. But yea not even sure we are talking about the same player here judging by your assessment.

Tua got a wild boner for project overseas players and chip on their shoulder cacs Im starting to notice

You got that right. Jags fan in the building. :francis:

At this point I'm just plugging my ears and going "lalalala" :mjlol:

That's kind of how I view it, it's really based on location and culture. A team like GS don't want him taking 15 shots a game, so he's going to be asked to defend on a night to night basis and he may prove himself up to that challenge since his minutes and reputation will be at stake. If you aren't putting much effort into the offensive end then you're going to put that effort in somewhere, so yeah I can see him developing as a two-way player there.

Now if you drop him in Charlotte or some shyt you can forget about it, dude's gonna have the greenlight so you might as well bring somebody else in to cover his assignment. :hubie:

I mean, Wiseman on the Hornets sort of makes sense, but cotdamn it's going to be ugly as hell before it gets any better. There are no vets on the team to feed nor mentor him, and there's no semblance of any structure either. Traditional bigs need that more than any other position.
