This is being overblown imo. A once in a decade prospect? Stop it. Like Nimmo, he came from a state with no baseball and was selected high. If Kelenic is called up to the Pacific Coast League, it also won't be a barometer on what he does at the next level as the PCL's offensive stats are heavily inflated. If he pans out, he pans out. I wasn't a fan of the deal largely because of Cano. That money could have been spent on Kimbrel if they needed a closer. Diaz was the piece and they got him at a cheap rate under team control for the foreseeable future.

Regarding Diaz, ignoring his ERA, he has not looked good out there. People that are complaining about his work rate only have a valid point when he was used Tuesday night when up four. Other than that, he's a closer. He has to get outs. He's lost three games by himself so far this season. Last night's is arguably the most frustrating of the three because they would have been playing with house money up two games and Vargas on the mound. He pissed the bed.
