:mjlol: it was a matter of time

Nelson kept it too real

Mets TV analyst Nelson Figueroa has been fired from his job with SNY, The Post has learned.

Figueroa was let go Friday morning after he showed up Thursday in what was described by sources as a state not fit to work. Figueroa reportedly demanded to still appear on SNY’s evening program, “Baseball Night in New York,” but was not permitted to appear.

An SNY spokeswoman confirmed that Figueroa is no longer working at the network. She declined to provide further details.

Figueroa, 45, had been a Mets analyst since 2015, when he replaced Bobby Ojeda. Before this season, Figueroa was demoted in place of Todd Zeile on the Mets’ pregame and postgame shows.

SNY already was down one analyst. Ron Darling has been out after surgery to have a mass removed from his chest. As a result, Zeile was shifted to game analyst.

Darling is expected to return to the booth this month. Former Mets general manager Jim Duquette is another SNY studio analyst.

Messages left for Figueroa were not immediately returned. His agent, Maury Gostfrand, declined to comment.

Figueroa, a Brooklyn native, is popular among his co-workers and there was shock over the news.

Figueroa pitched for the Mets for two out of his nine years in the majors. He was 20-35 with a 4.55 ERA.

Gotta take the good with the bad when it comes to Alonso. He's had horrible at bats tonight. Mets will have given away another game if this persists.

The Mets just got screwed out of an additional run. The ball man picked up the ball while it was still in play.

Gsellman wasn't as bad as he has been tonight. Mets will creep up one game on Atlanta and Philly if LA holds on.

DeGrom has been more disappointing than impressive this year. It's impossible to continue what he accomplished last year, but enough is enough. The Dbacks are a run scoring team but tonight Jake needs to give the Mets a shutout caliber performance.
