Terrible take. If all you got is not getting those two as 'not spending the Cespedes money' that's complaining just to complain. Kimbrel would not be brought here to eat up innings. He wasn't signing anywhere unless he was closing and that wasn't our problem, we needed closers and that's what he would be called to do and he would likely shyt the bed like he did in Chicago. It would be a bad idea to get him.

When Kimbrel was finally signed Diaz had yet to implode. And he sucked anyway so we would be stuck with him now paying him a lot not to close for us going forward. Signing him would have been counter productive.

Who said throw him a bag? If you lock him up this offseason, chances are you’ll spend less than if you wait until after the 2020 season. I mean.. since that’s all the Wilpons care about.. right? Or did they bring him in with the intent of flipping him? Which means they never intended on giving him a new contract?
Which is what everyone pretty much thinks is gonna happen. But keep on being blind to the way the Wilpons work. It’s cool. It’ll be a lot less stressful for you as a met fan.

Dude you are an irrational fan. Your claim to the Wilpons being cheap is not signing Kimbrel or Keuchel who were both subpar and not extending Stroman when no one has gotten any type of deal this off season since the off season hasn't started yet. lol
