This thread really getting trolled by yankee fans? Over Alonso's record of all things in a season tainted by the bullpen? When the yanks are coasting into the playoffs.?:dwillhuh:

Anywho, next year build this lineup around:

Rosario
Alonso
JD
McNeill
Conforto
Nimmo (I say Nimmo because whether you admit it or not this dude gets on base and does it consistently, earlier in the year when he was healthy Lagares couldn't sniff the starting lineup.)

Mets gotta do something about the catcher position cause Ramos, Nido, Rene Rivera just ain't gonna cut it. I know Ramos played consistently this year but I need more than Nido and Rivera.

Move Cano and Cespedes :francis:
I'll defend MC in the sense that anyone who he used from the pen was a mess this year. But in other managerial decisions he looked lost, he just ain't it for me :francis:

I won't talk about the bullpen either, yall already know :francis:

Jed Lowrie was on the DL all season long, came back with a few weeks left, still hasn't had a hit. What a waste of a roster spot :snoop:

This season needs to end already, enough of this bullpen trash :scust:

edit: It's been said 100 times but I'll say it again, a solid bullpen and this team could have been sitting on 100 wins.

85 wins with a trash pen, think about that for a sec, 85 wins :dwillhuh:

86. 86. With an average bullpen, the Mets win 100 games.

What a strange season. On one hand it was enjoyable to actually watch the entire way through and to watch a team with a winning record, usually I'm checked out by late May, checking the box score and watching deGrom starts. On the other hand it was highly disappointing, like @Rell Lauren said, just an average bullpen and there Mets are probably winning the division. If we had good owners I would be very excited about next season, but we don't and I'm very worried about next season. The core is there and the core is very good but in my fandom I have seen too many times where close enough is good enough for the Wilpons. Thor will be gone, I really don't think they will spend the money to keep Wheeler. Now you have a massive hole in the middle of the rotation, the bullpen is still in shambles, they're probably going to trade from the core to improve the bullpen, I just don't have a good feeling going into the winter.
