Those players that were beating them badly are going to a campus to get better as well lol and are more talented so yea. The rankings just give a good indication of how talented a guy is. There are obviously 3 stars out there that can become great but it's rare and most of them are borderline 4 stars anyway. The FSU OL guys are low 3 stars. They definitely won't be any help right away like FSU needs. They are 2-3 years a way at best from maybe being starters

You don't know what you got until you get them on campus. When a coach recruits a player he isn't recruiting based on a star system.

@TUA TAGOVAILOA has this thing where stars and player rankings are everything. He told me you have to have a top 5 class every year to win championship, but look at Clemson last 5 classes rankings
2018-7
2017- 16
2016-11
2015-9
2014-16

This year they had 15 three stars. This doesn’t fit his narrative

Todd Grantham interviewing for the Bengals DC job.

Even if he doesn't get it, it's been understood that TG wasn't going to be pur DC for a long time

Maybe not entirely, but where a player is rated def does or/and can influence who all comes recruiting

I agree with that. For the most part stars on these sites do that although I saw three that were 4 stars on South Carolina boards and now on 247 it shows they've yet to sign anywhere.

Clemson's rankings are a bit deceptive tho. This year they took more 3*s, but they had some smaller classes the past few years, so their overall ranking isn't as high. Similar to how OSU this year is 3rd in average recruit ranking, but 14th in the rankings because we only had 17 signees.

The bulk of their major impact players looks to be in 2016-2018 classes when they started to take more 5*s and had some smaller classes. Their deepest position (DL) were the big 4-5* croots that everybody wanted. Then topped it off with the number one (should have been number two :brutusblocko: ) player in the country leading them at QB. Much of their high impact players were the 4-5* players everybody wanted.
