I can't believe people willing to give up a 1st or 2nd overall pick for a guy that started 2 games in his career in one of the more QB friendly systems you can find that he's been in for 3 years.

Dude is going to have immense pressure to hit the ground running and so is any team that trades the world for him and signs him to a big contract.

who was the last backup qb traded for high draft picks who amounted to anything?:

One of the analyst I follow on Twitter said that Barnett is a snap jumper...So I'm watching some draft breakdown film right now...and they right as hell. He getting pressures off jumping the snap don't think he can get away with that in the nfl as his primary attack.

I don't know he probably can. That's Cam Wake's main thing

- Lorenzo Alexander went undrafted
- Danielle Hunter was drafted in the 3rd round
- Cliff Avril went in the 3rd
- Cam Wake went undrafted
- Erik Walden went in the 6th

And all of those guys were in the Top 10 in sacks this year
There are outliers obviously like with everything. But for the most part u arent going to find a great pass rusher that late

In today's NFL, the peak value for the 6'4 260 lb DEs is in the second round, IMO.

Dominant safeties, CBs with size, and coverage + rush LBs are all of higher premium than one dimensional 260+ lb DEs who rush the passer.

These guys are simply not 3 down players in our league anymore.

Versatile DTs who can stop the run on 1st and 2nd, and can rush from the nose guard position on 3rd down impact the game more than old school DEs.
If u can't put any pressure on the QB it doesnt matter how good ur secondary is. Being able to put pressure only rushing 4 is sort of a big deal

I didn't say rushing the QB wasn't important. I said the value for a 4-3 DE was not in the too 10.

Lol yes there is. Look at Myles Garrett everyone loves him and even Allen and Thomas can play 4-3 DE. Dante Fowler in 2015, Joey Bosa and Leonard Floyd in 2016, Ansah, Dion Jordan and Barkevious Mingo in 2013

And none of these players changed the fabric of their team and half of them are busts.

Are you not understanding what I'm saying?

Lol Ansah has been pretty good. Bosa looks like he will be nice too. Still have to wait and see on Floyd and Fowler. And obviously Garrett, Allen and Thomas are all DE and projected to go top 10 in this draft so no Im not understanding what u are saying. Obviously the "value" as u said is there if teams are still taking these guys in the top 10 every year even if they dont produce(but besides mingo and dion jordan u cant say that) and thats only the past few years

oh yea forgot about Vic Beasley and Khalil Mack lol! End of discussion breh
Those are LBs... and the Raiders had the 20th ranked defense and couldn't beat the Texans in the playoffs. The fact Mack won Defensive Player of the Year almost proves my point alone.

Vic Beasley was invisible in the Super Bowl.

Btw, both of those teams have franchise QBs btw... which is who you should draft in the top 10.

What are you arguing? I say QB >>> DE in today's NFL.

Beasley definitely is not a LB. Mack will drop but he is much more effective when rushing the passer as a 4-3 DE

I actually wasn't a huge fan of Beasley but he proved me wrong this year he had a great year breh

Im just arguing that 4-3 pass rushers are important. U were trying to say they have no value at all basically. I never said they are the most valuable asset in the league. Thats obviously QB...

Ansah... good player. Bosa will be too. So what?

You're confusing my point. I didn't say all DEs drafted in the top 10 will be busts. I said their value is not top 10 worthy even if they are good pros. Every player you've brought up only strengthens my point.

An above average QB impact > An above average DE impact

The Browns don't have a QB at all but they have a solid DE that they drafted in the second round last year.

Which position do you think they should draft lol??

Not true. I clearly said their value is in the late half of the 1st round and lower.

If you don't have a QB and you drafting a DE, you are an idiot.

Who you think Houston would draft #1 if they had to do it again?

Answer me...
