I like the fact yall drafted some wr's last year. I hope yall clean up that o line play for whoever play qb for yall.
Shon Coleman is the RT next year and I think he can be a future LT once Joe hangs 'em up.

I think they make a play for RG in FA and draft a C in the draft.

When you draft your QB #1, you have to protect him :obama:

you addressed none of my points and moved the goalposts. I wasnt arguing that run defense is important in the league- its like the most important thing for a defense, no shyt
Im all about D, run D and run game.

I dont even give a shyt about garerett or mcdowell. I simply pointed out faults in your posts and you got your panties in a bunch

again, my points were
1)about you calling those guys role players when majority of them logged 75%+ snaps- ie you were wrong
2)4-3 DEs disguising coverages, which is mostly nonsense. if you watch some of the most disguised 4-3 coverages in history, such as jimmy johnsons eagles D, etc, 4-3DEs dont disguise much, if anything. most of the disguise work is there by secondary and some is by LBs. 3-4 fronts have FAR more luxury disguising the OLBs and LBs in general. This is a major reason why teams even go 3-4.
3)players who are more of pass rush specialists getting more burn today than they used to, and 2-down safeties and MLBs who can stop run and who cant cover, being less utilized. this is again, a fact.

all of these points are pretty much facts

:mjlol:
so you agree with him saying cliff avril is a fukking role player and that 4-3 DEs (excluding guys like jevon jearse and von miller, who are/were athletic freaks and can play multiple positions) disguise coverage ?

Breh dropped some interesting stats.

I know the Cardinals D was weaker this season than it was in 2015, despite leading the league in sacks this past season.

So in some regard, I do think sacks are overrated

Now that the Super Bowl is now over now is the time to start focusing on prospects for the 2017 NFL draft. Many teams have many different needs, but I will be focusing on one player in particular for the first 10 picks.

1. Cleveland Browns:

Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama

Jonathan Allen may not be the most popular pick for the number one overall pick in the draft, but he is definitely the most dominant. Allen would have been a first rounder last year, but decided to come back for his senior year. In his senior year at Alabama he racked up 69 total tackles, 16 TFL, and 10.5 sacks. He also did this:

2. San Francisco 49ers:

Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

I don’t think Trubisky is the top quarterback in this draft, but I do believe he will be the player the 49ers select with the second overall pick. Even though Colin Kaepernick had a decent last year and I believe he is still a starting quarterback in this league, his time in San Francisco is winding down. Trubisky has a good arm and is a very mobile quarterback. In his one season as the starting quarterback he had 3748 yards passing 30 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. He also had 5 rushing touchdowns.

3. Chicago Bears:

Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

Myles Garrett is the most explosive defensive player in this draft. Many have him going number one and rightfully so. Garrett was a 5 star recruit out of high school and he lived up to his hype at College Station. In just 10 games played his junior year, Garrett still compiled 15 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

Garrett has had a few health issues, but when healthy is dominant.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars:

Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

Malik Hooker is a ball hawking safety. When the ball is in the air it feels as if he is the intended receiver. He also has great returning ability. When he intercepts the ball, he is more than likely going to take it the distance. In his junior year, out of the 7 interceptions he had, 3 were taken back for touchdown. He also had 74 tackles, and 5.5 tackles for loss. Hooker is a turnover machine, but he can step in and make tackles as well.

5. Tennessee Titans (from the LA Rams):

Mike Williams, WR, Clemson

After a horrific neck injury had him sidelined his entire sophomore year, Mike Williams came to show why he was such a highly touted receiver coming out of high school. Williams came back in his first game with vengeance tallying 9 catches for 174 yards against Auburn. Williams is a match up nightmare with his 6’3 frame. He boxes out defenders and catches the ball at its high point very well. Pairing Williams up with quarterback Marcus Mariota and its dominant run game would be exciting to watch in the future.

6. New York Jets:

Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

After Deshaun Watson’s performance against alabama I cant see why he isn’t the number 1 quarterback on most boards. He’s my number 1 rated quarterback, but I don’t personally see the 49ers selecting Watson with there second pick. In Watson’s last season with the Tigers which ended with a national championship, Watson threw for almost 4,600 yards and 41 touchdowns. Over his last 2 seasons he has thrown a combined 30 interceptions, but his accuracy is not a concern.

7. San Diego Chargers:

Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan

Many boards may not have Western Michigan receiver Corey Davis going this high in the draft but, Davis is a receiver that Phillip Rivers would love to have. Rivers already has a talented receiver in Keenan Allen, and even though he is still young, he has had issues staying healthy. Antonio Gates is still performing well, but he isn’t getting any younger either. Davis is electric anytime he gets the ball in his hands and any play could become a touchdown with him on the field.

8. Carolina Panthers:

Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State

2-time first team All-American Dalvin Cook is the complete package at running back. He has excellent speed, but also has great balance. Cook makes plays happen when there doesn’t even seem like there is a play to be made. Cook also seems to get stronger as the game goes on. Cook is not only good in the run game, but he can also catch out of the backfield. The only downside to Cook is that he has had a few injuries throughout his three years at Florida State.

9. Cincinnati Bengals:

Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

Reuben Foster, the hard hitting linebacker out of Alabama is an NFL ready linebacker. Everyone he tackles, he doesn’t simply tackle, he tries to run through that person. Foster also has tremendous sideline to sideline speed. Foster was not only a stellar linebacker, but he was also a play maker on special teams.

10: Buffalo Bills:

Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida

Jalen Tabor is another talented defensive back from the Florida Gators. The Gators have had quite a few big time defensive backs through the years and Tabor is no exception. Tabor is solid in both the run and passing game, but he excels when the ball is in the air. In Tabor’s 3 years at Florida, he caught 8 interceptions and returned 3 for touchdowns. He also accumulated over 100 career tackles and had 28 passes deflected.

Monday Musings: February 13th

Tony Pauline offers his opinion on the best linebacker no one is talking about and the most underrated lineman at Texas A&M in the most recent edition of Monday Musings.

Several people have graded safety Jamal Adams of LSU as a top-10 selection, often times pegging him to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the fourth selection. I don’t see it. Adams is an explosive athlete, but he’s not as complete as Malik Hooker and definitely does not have comparable ball skills to the Ohio State sophomore. I also feel he does not have the same upside as Jabrill Peppers, who may be scheme-specific but will instantaneously impact games as a return specialist as a rookie.

Two players from LSU who are woefully underrated are cornerback Tre'Davious White and receiver Malachi Dupre. Had White entered last April’s draft he would’ve been a first-round pick, but his game leveled off and even regressed at some points last season. Regardless, he still shows the ability to shut down receivers when opponents throw his way and plays tough, aggressive football. He measured a shade under 6-feet at the Senior Bowl, but I feel he’s a steal outside of the top-45 selections.

Dupre also watched his game take a step back last year after a terrific sophomore campaign. During the Citrus Bowl the junior was back to his dominant self though, recording seven receptions for 139 yards against Louisville. He’s a big-play receiver with size as well as growth potential. Anything past the 65th pick and Dupre is a bargain as far as I’m concerned.

What amazed me on film was the speed Leonard Fournette plays with. The junior running back not only runs over people but runs away from them with regularity.

From Rotoworld last week, it was reported Mississippi receiver Damore'ea Stringfellow was not invited to the combine. Watching Stringfellow last week, I felt he caught the ball well but shows little to no quickness or speed in his game and cannot separate. One name kept popping into my mind as I watched him: De'Runnya Wilson.

As far as former Mississippi State receivers go, Fred Ross will be a steal on the draft’s final day. He’s not really big and not super fast but runs great routes, separates from defenders and catches everything in sight. Ross will produce as a rookie lining up as a fourth receiver.

Donavin Newsom of Missouri is one of the more underrated linebackers in the draft. He has size deficiencies (6-feet-1, 235 pounds) but plays fast, makes plays in every direction of the field and is constantly around the action. We presently grade him as a sixth-round prospect.

It’ll be interesting to see how Derek Barnett of Tennessee tests at the combine. On film he looks very athletic and I would expect good numbers. Barnett grades out well as a pass rusher, backside pursuit defender and a defensive end who competently drops into space on zone blitzes. I do have concerns how he’ll hold up against the run on Sundays.

Note to Cleveland Browns fans: if your team passes on Myles Garrett, find a new team. Garrett is the complete package and a lot more than just an edge rusher. He splits double-team blocks, shows a terrific inside move and is adept at stopping the run as well as terrorizing quarterbacks. The fact he played injured at times last season and participated in the Aggies’ bowl game speaks volumes.

The conversation solely includes Avery Gennesy when talking about Texas A&M offensive line prospects, which is a shame. I feel Jermaine Eluemunor offers a good degree of next-level potential, albeit at guard and not tackle. Eluemunor is big and strong and does a terrific job in pass protection for a wide-bodied blocker.

On film, Vanderbilt tackle William Holden looks like mush. Notice I said looks like mush and not plays like mush, as he’s a terrific pass protector who gets the most from his size and skill. I could definitely see Holden breaking in with the starting unit on Sundays after spending a year or two in an NFL weight training program.

Worst top 10 list ever. Only Myles Garrett and Corey Davis are top 10 talents.

The rest are mostly 2nd round talents except Tabor and Cook who are late 1st round values.

Terrible list. :scusthov:
