Minus Florida, yea, not really. Like @No Sleep has mentioned plenty of times, TX kids just max out once they hit college. Either that or the competition they dominated has caught up with them. And there's a reason when Cali kids come down south to play college ball, they usually flame out or high tail it back to the westcoast. We play football like no one else down here. Give me recruits from FL, GA, LA, Bama, VA (Tidewater area) & Ohio/Western Pennsylvania all day

I think thats true thats why I think Jimbo isn't going to fair that well at TAMU. Someone was telling me that he needs to recruit the hell outta east Texas and LA.

Yea putting up big #s in Cali/Northwest states don't really mean much. The state of Georgia has been producing some of the best talent lately and they have a 1/4 of the population of Cali. Trevor Lawrence is going to be great he aint no Jacob Eason or Max Browne or Blake Barnett etc etc from the Northwest

$6.8 mil over 4 years. Guess they didn’t watch the game on Saturday. That’s an outrageous sum
Worth it. Good move. Leavitt was a monster as a d coordinator this year, Vegas bowl aside, and proved he is worthy of being considered one of the countries best.

The defense was the least of the worries in the bowl game. The team looked out of sorts and lacking emotion. Looks like en the distractions really got to the team, which I think was a concern for most going in.

That said, wondering if this was part of Cristobal's plan. They said he sold the AD on a vision...and by Cristobal getting paid less about $800k less than Helfrich or Taggart got, might as well use that money to try and retain Leavitt.

Taggart and his focus on recruiting was the biggest story of this year, but focusing on play on the field it was Leavitt and his defense that stole the show and was where Oregon really succeeded. The offense was largely bland and disappoining...had Taggart stayed he would have needed to improve there...now that appears to be Cristobal and Arroyo's issue to try and make the offense better flowing.

For someone who’s let it be known the first opportunity he gets at another HC gig he’s out the door? A mil per sounds about right. Out of the T10 d-coordinators (pay wise), only Pruitt & Venables have won titles. He’s nowhere close to their league

Cause Pruitt coached loaded Bama and FSU rosters it makes then better? all you need to do is look at Colorado before, during and after he left.

Man I think the timing of this early signing period is terrible. Coaches are either trying to get their team ready for a game in a day or two, or still in the middle of practicing and prepping for a bowl game in the next couple of weeks, but they have to pretty much stop everything to get these recruits signed. Having the signing period start in February made sense because you could focus on your game and then finish out your recruiting for almost a month. Seems like most croots are signing in a few days, so now the calendar is moved up. I don't mind if they want an early signing period, but it would make so much more sense to have one in like August before the season starts then have the next one in February. The early period for basketball is in November, then the final one in April. So November before the season kicks off, then April after the season ends. Makes so much more sense. Just imagine if the early period basketball one was like the first of March while conference/NCAA tourney season is going on. That's what's going on in football now.
