Even if they lose to ND I hope it's close I got ND winning on paper but Charlie can't afford another early season BYU/ND type loss that embarrass the program on national stage. I think Texas has realistic chance to win 9 games they matchup great with Oklahoma and Baylor they just gotta avoid throwing away games vs the crummy schools. Big 12 is a crapshoot 8 schools capable of striking any week. West Virginia has a nice schedule on paper I see them causing some problems too

You hit the nail on the head, Texas has proven they can play with the Oklahomas, they problem is losing to teams like Iowa St. Plus, they gotta avoid fukkery like in the Cal and Ok State games

Yeah they matchup in the trenches vs them schools for some reason but I think stylistically ND is a bad matchup for Texas D. Texas has whipped OU OL's ass the past 3 years

I don't know if I'd call the Big 12-2 a classic, historic conference when it's only 20 years old. It was just the merging of the Southwest and Big 8 :manny:

it's not as much now obviously, but A&M, Neb, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, even Ok St to a degree are historically very good programs.

Big 12 started out hot it soon became the Oklahoma/Texas invitational after 01. Oklahoma and Texas won 8 of last 9 Big 12 titles. The North got soft after awhile Nebraska,Colorado and Kansas St all fell off at same time and the only school they really stepped up with Missouri and Kansas was a one year wonder. Big 12 still better than the ACC,Big 10 and Pac 10 were in the 00s ACC was the WOAT without a doubt.

Make sure you clarify that Texas only has ONE Big 12 title in the last 10 years.

In 20 years of Big 12 play, OU has 9 conf titles, Texas has 3. They may start catching up one day, but until they do I'm holding that stat. lol

But yeah, the res tof your post is the reason the conf started falling off. The North got awful once Neb fell off, and K-State stopped being consistent. Then it became these subpar Colorado teams playing for the Big 12 title. Mizzou was pretty consistent in the late 00's.

I'll always wonder what would've happened if Manziel played in the Big 12 that year. Somehow I don't think they would've won as much as they did that 1st SEC season. Just b/c the Big 12 is so quirky at times.

Schoolwise, the Big 12 was on par with anyone, but the North just fell off like bad bag of dope and it became the OU/Texas show.

Yeah, they've clearly gotten up for the game the past 3 years and we haven't. And it's not just the OL, but the DL too b/c they ran all over us last year.

We should be bigger on both sides this year. But they gotta want it.

Honestly, I'm really afraid...:mjcry:......b/c IF we beat Houston and Ohio State, there's no way we won't be ranked #1 or 2 by the time we play Texas. And that'd be a ton of pressure going into that game. OU teams of the past seem to get big heads/complacent when ranked highly.

2004,2010,2013......That's more than any other team outside of Alabama and LSU in the SEC since 2000. Tied with Florida.

People hyped up last year because of Muschamp, and Jeremy Johnson. Muschamp couldn't get the defense up to standard until halfway through the season, they started playing better. Jeremy Johnson had all the tools but didn't have everything mentally ready to go. Also, young running backs. A top receiver kicked off the team. Just a lot of turmoil like most years Auburn doesn't live up to expectations.

This year is another beast though. Defense a lot more talented and experienced. Knowing how we'll use players on offense better. The running back group is actually deeper than last year, plus the h-back position. More talented wide receivers added to the group. :ehh:
More because of Carl being hurt than the defense not being ready... We were pretty much ass until he came back and immediately stopped being ass. The 1 or 2 drives he was in during the UL game, he was getting past double teams dolo. Only time he was 100% too

@Silkk @O.iatlhawksfan :myman: CollegeFootballNews has Texas going 9-3 & CBS sports has us as the biggest Power 5 Dark Horse to win it's conference.

I think y'all will be the Tennessee of 2016. Super talented young team that will lose some heart breakers but the experience will make y'all ready to compete for the playoffs in 2017.

9-3 sounds right with close losses to Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and someone else.

Man, this College football shyt is almost here. I'm watching a replay of the Notre Dame and UV good and it's a lot of passion in this game. The UV qb was pure shyt but he got some good moments @The ADD they just said he beat out Grayson Lambert in the spring last year, that shyt hurt to hear cause we made Lambert look like and NFL qb.
