Now they saying Russell loves Philly when apparently he didn't want any parts of us a couple of days ago :dead::mjlol:

"76ers fans were concerned that D'Angelo Russell no longer wanted to play for the team when he canceled a workout Friday because he was "real sick."

They have no reason to be concerned, according to a source close to the former Ohio State guard. "He really loves Philly," the source said.

Russell got an up-close look at what could become his adopted home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Several mock drafts have the Sixers taking him with the third overall pick in the draft next Thursday.

Russell arrived on Tuesday afternoon and had dinner with general manager Sam Hinkie. Then he spent Wednesday at the Sixers' practice facility at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The point guard worked out for the team and had a lengthy meeting with coach Brett Brown.

"He said he killed it," the source said of the workout. "He was talking about how excited he was about Philly."

The 6-foot-5, 193-pound point guard looked excited when he left the practice facility at 4:05 p.m.

He was asked how his workout went as he walked down the steps. "Great," Russell responded."

Yeah, expect him to be of the best centers in the league in 2-3 years.

He was an absolute steal for the Nuggets

I didn't read the whole convo but I assume we are talking about the Nurk. Love the guy, him and Capela are prob my 2 favorite players from last year's draft

It's crazy too, cause he was called the 2nd best center prospect in the draft after Embiid, and was a top 10 talent but nobody was sure if he was going to come over.
Niko & Nurkic would have been something else

Would have been weird eventually starting two Euros at the 4/5 though

That, and there were questions about his maturity and conditioning. This dropped him a little later in the draft into that 10-18 range where a lot of the 'reach' guys with Boom/Bust potential are drafted. The Nuggets (or Bulls, not sure whose idea it was to get him there) took a leap of faith with him and so far it looks like it paid off.

Having said that, the homer in me wants the Lakers to get him if that deal posted earlier has any validity. Mario Hezonja is Nurkic's good friend and they would add some toughness/edge to a team that's been lacking there since Artest was amnestied.
