Denver's window really should've been 2021-2023 except Murray and MPJ were both hurt if I'm not mistaken. It's interesting to think they could've been making deep runs really as soon as they made the trade for Aaron Gordon because they were rolling but then Murray when down in like January of that year.

yup. after the aaron gordon trade, they went 8-0. Then Jamal tore his ACL against the Warriors. Who's to say they beat the bucks in 2021 but the series against GSW in 2022 is a lot more competitive with MPJ and Jamal Murray

That Denver offense used to b a bytch to play against, but now im not sure. They might just go back to being a solid team. Low 50s wins and a 2nd round exit :manny:

Many a window has been closed or never opened because of injuries. At least they got a title out of it.

They lost 2 key contributors. I know all people wanna talk about is the stars but quality role players are the difference between champion and perennial playoff team. Those margins are way thinner than people realize. Quality role players help you get through the season without killing your star. They make those little plays that folks dont remember that keys a comeback or keeps a team at bay in the playoffs. Losing 2 without replacing them is a death knell.
That’s difficult to pull off in this new CBA with increase salaries all across the board and penalties.

The theoretical solution is through drafting and the G-league, but the majority of league is shyt at doing so.

The Nuggets aren’t wrong for their thought process. The problem is 1.those guys aren’t ready and 2.they don’t have time to wait on them.

Unless you want to be a team like the Knicks where your stars leave money on the table.

Malone keeps trying to stagger Murray to play with the backup PG and the bench, and it just doesn’t work. Don’t work with bones, didn’t work with Reggie Jackson, won’t work with Russ. Team still has major issues, but not throwing out the same bench lineup that you know is going to get torched will help things.

Russ was a -24 yesterday. The starting lineup was +7.
