In the west this year :patrice:

Once teams start saying shyt like "we need westbrook" it's close to being over...

Ask the Lakers, Clippers, Rockets, and Wizards
Westbrook went on a crazy final 35-40 games with the Wizards though.

Denver isn’t getting that off the bench

Good luck to Denver. Westbrook is a curse. Any team that signs him up fails at winning.

Ever since him and KD blew 3-1 lead, he hasn't seen a 2nd round besides the bubble playoffs.

They're gonna have to trade this poor guy in the middle of the season.

Denver's window officially closed when they lost to Minnesota in the postseason but also losing KCP in the off-season is going to be a noticeable loss overall as the season progresses.

The Nuggets are going back to being a 4th or 5th seed at best and 6th at worst. As always, the West has gotten better, and Westbrook and AG might become trade assets in the future. The front office poorly handled their window of opportunity, but hey, some teams are only meant to be “one-timers” in regards to being champions.

Imagine still being hung up on this shyt when you were proven wrong long ago.

:picard:
Jokic had carpenters and masonries on his national team and could have beat the US. The issue is the Nuggets don’t have shooting. That will bite them in the behind. The starters have 1 and a 1/2 shooters.

It’s a long season, but I have them fighting for the six spot. Do we have a predictions thread?
The West is a complete mess.

Thunder
Suns
Mavs
Wolves
Nuggets
Kings

The only solid teams are the top four and even the Wolves messed up their chemistry but I believe the coach will figure it out.

Warriors might be fighting for 5/6 spot. Grizzlies will as well but I don’t like their spacing at all. Their two young players need to get back soon and stay healthy. Rockets and Lakers are there as well. Who knows with the Pelicans with their chemistry and lack of five. Plus Murray is already hurt.

Point is 3-6 will be crazy and I will not be surprised at who will be in those spots come all star break.

Blazers, Spurs and Jazz are there as only bad teams. Jazz and Spurs can catch anybody slipping on any night. Hopefully Wemby stops shooting threes.

Jokic is a generational nuke of a talent whenever he’s on the court. The Nuggets ownership and FO nuked the man’s chances to have a competitive roster :manny:

How do you have an offensive hub that can see shooters from 1000 feet away while being double teamed PLUS sign a point guard who literally can’t do anything offensively other than drive and kick to shooters…and have no fukking shooters??? They have none!!

The kids on the roster need to grow up fast

Westbrook is an odd fit

Joker will carry them to 50 wins of course but they clearly can’t beat OKC in a series

With the new cap rules, a lot of poor FOs are going to be forced to rely on cost effective contracts - whether youth or vets. I give them that. But they’ve found a terrible blend of cost effective contracts that actually fit what they did well 2 years ago.

I don’t even think they have a KCP style replacement. It’s not all a mess, but their HC is the last one I really wanna depend on to develop the end of bench young guys into rotation pieces. It’s like pulling teeth with Mike

Winning a chip is hard. People that came up in the 3peat era got it twisted. You see a squad win once and think they bout to be the Bulls. It dont work like that most of the time. Some squads just have everything break their way, win a chip, and thats it.

That said, it was straight malpractice to let KCP walk. You dont stack chips letting quality contributors walk for nothing.

Even if the FOs has the bread to pay to the luxury tax, the 2nd tax apron penalties are going to be too brutal to make it not worth it. It's why I don't under the format as even smaller market teams that manage to develop a competitive team are going to run into the same issues.

Your reign on the top was short like....
I been said them Denver role players were :patrice:
Even Murray be too erratic if you're being honest
Jokic still ain’t ever beat a 50 win team in the playoffs. Their title season everything fell into place but now west stronger and they are in trouble

they need to dump MPJ and :youngsabo: by trade deadline to do anything. Even then, I don't know what else they can do.

OKC gonna be a problem for a minute....and they got the Clippers unprotected 1st in the next draft along with all those other picks. :to:
