The music that's considered R&B these days is just all over the place

I do not think old heads are complaining,
What we are saying,
Is that,
Compared to Miguel, Frank, Weeknd,
And other very "small" list of artists,
Compared to artists in the 90's stated in this thread,
There is no contest.
We only have the "usual" same artist dropping music today,
So if some cat dropped a song today, even though he cannot sing,
We feel like we must support it,
For some strange reason I do not know why.
Compared to artist who in the 90's actually could sing and harmonize.
There was an abundance of artist back then that you could chose from too each year in the 90's,
Unlike now,
Who we have to fight ourselves to even like are listen to these artists today.

Man music in general these days is garbage, I only listen to music from the 90's when rnb and hip hop were real, i cant fukk with any of these new cats at all. I only have a select few of artists i check for these days, everyone else and their souless music gets thrown in the bushes

R & B of this young generation is the first generation that has not have their "talent" exercised in the church. All previous generations of R & B have had artists practicing their talents in the church and have all different ranges. Now the club has replaced the church and these "artists" merely make songs of blatant sex. I like My R & B without cursewords, actual singing, and outside the club, thank you.

So much misguided polemics in these threads that periodically crop up. It just ain't true.

I could easily point to at least 50 artists that came up over the last few years making music that "has flavour" or involves a high degree of talent within the R&B vein (which by the way is nowhere near as uniform as you guys make it out to be).

Music tv and radio still cater to the same age group they did when you were 5/10 years younger so how on earth do you expect to find things suited to your tastes there?
