This is all well and good. But it would be better if Nigerians take group economics seriously. Nigerians dont wanna do business with other Nigerians!:damn: Everyone wants to go solo. The only time Nigerians put money together is to build a church:francis:

Nigeria has the potential to become the first all Black developed country. Unfortunately we are ruled by idiots and corrupt people. We will realize that potential when people who are educated and brought up abroad (i.e not in the corrupt Nigerian system) return and join the political system.
Nah, I'd say Rwanda, Ethiopia, Botswanna, Ghanna will stabilize before Nigeria due to leadership. Rwanda banning tribal influence automatically gives them the best chance.

I'm wondering why? I read that London has five nigerian banks, but in the u.s. only one is allowed, and it was found to be a money laundering haven.

The UBA New York Branch As a Money Laundering Haven | Sahara Reporters

Do you think they fear being involved in corruption over here then they would in London?

According to the coli intellects, simply attending and graduating college is enough. Any college too. :comeon:

2 replies within 5 minutes of each other detailed how Nigerians they know had ADVANCED degrees, but that’s the same as looking at our graduation rates I suppose

Well my experience as an AA says this....Nigerians generally tend to be a very industrious, no non-sense, no excuses, all about their business type of people. The idea of sitting and waiting for anyone to "allow" you do something seems completely foreign to them.

Over the past 20 years or so since I've moved to nyc, the Nigerian friends that I made along the way in college, and through work were all very ambitious and upwardly mobile. One of my good personal friends is Igbo (educated and very ambitious...and always reads books about Industry giants from Andrew Carnegie to Steve Jobs) and hes a software//website developer; his brother is an engineer of some sort and is constantly thinking of ways to brand himself. Another guy that I know is Yoruba and he's a licensed LMSW and a mid-level supervisor from a city agency'; another female that I know is a CPA, and a few others are Professors in various fields. I was even dating a Nigerian woman about a year ago who was a Upenn grad. None of them were from money or "royalty" either. IMO it really is a cultural thing. From what I surmise, many see the America as the land of 'milk and honey' a with streets paved of gold, so there really is no reason NOT to get yours. Many if not all of em' come from VERY stable households who parents push them to get ahead, and although many of them are cool, and identify with AA's to some extent, once in a while they let it slip out that they think AA's are "wasting" opportunities (I've also come across quite a few proper West Indians who made similar statements) and based on my personal experience with family, friends etc, I can't say I disagree with em :manny:

And these are random, unconnected people from one another that I met in different ways so I'm not really surprised by the data.

@Booksnrain read my post, then read this post, and see the connection. It reads narcissism, but because we all have been effected by this mental illness, we think its healthy! Notice he didn't mention anyone with regular status jobs that pay well, and the people he mentioned were doing everything they can to get that status, and prestige. He didn't mention anything about them developing anything to be better/innovative or change the world. For example someone like a Nikola Tesla. He described narcissistic traits, and praised them for it!

America is gonna be a very cruel place if people don't wake up, and change!

- The Washington Post

"“One thing you would see with narcissistic parents is using their kids as a route to self-advancement,” he says. “As a narcissistic parent, you look good and feel good because of the success of your kid. The same way that a narcissist can have a trophy spouse, you can have a trophy kid.”

"Narcissistic parents have high expectations of their children — and plenty of them. They push their kids to excel in sports, do well in school, attend elite universities, and work in high-status careers. Narcissistic parents believe their children are special and deserving of special opportunities and privileges, and they refuse to tolerate anything less than perfection. They view their children as a part of themselves — “like their arm or their leg,” Durvasula says — and when their children aren’t achieving, they withdraw their affection and become disconnected."

"Even parents with the best intentions get pulled into this cycle. Most parents who lobby to get their children into elite schools, hire college application coaches or push kids to get straight A’s sincerely want to help them advance in a society with limited options and a growing divide between the haves and the have-nots. But this focus can instill narcissistic traits in children unless parents balance competition with empathy and compassion."

Is college free?
If not, should immigrants be getting "black" grants/scholarships designed for ethnic AAs?
Do we have any benefits coming from them? Did they help fight for those?
I know my old music manager's (ghanian)parents paid for his schooling, along with grants.
Very curious.

You know how white mcwhite Spaniards from Spain get preferential treatment because of the trials of Indian mestizos?

It's like that.
