He wasn't trash he just was flow heavy but not cohesive lyrically. I peeped this when I revisited their music since I wasn't around for their era. He is definitely not considered great by anyone but he also didn't make trash music. He was just riding the beat and vibing. Definitely not a lot of quotables though.
My first impressions were similarly like wtf is CL smooth talking about most of the time. I agree with the criticism for TROY. That beat carries the song. CL does not bring it on there like he should have given the subject and emotion of the track.
Still a pleasure to listen to their work together though just because of how he rides the beats but he ain't saying nothing

Been saying this shyt for years. Dude always sucked but one thing though. I honestly think that cl would have blown up if he went commercial and kept it simple rap wise. That underground shyt wasn't his lane. He could have been biggie before biggie if Diddy signed him. He would know what to do with him.
