Soccer has been around forever in this country...its been the first sport kids have been exposed to for about 25 years. Maybe it will grow a bit...but its still wayyyy down the list. Lacrosse is much more popular than soccer in the US and no one gives two shyts about pro lacrosse.

Again, this is a silly argument. You dont like football...its cool. I enjoy the sport, played the sport, am 100% healthy and wouldnt have any issues having my childen play the sport. If its not for you, no sweat off of my back.

:dead:

Fam, you have no idea how brain injuries work, you may be fine today but when you're 45 and developing dementia.....

again with the profits. you wanna talk business?

barclays premier league has merchandise, tv rights, and overseas friendlies every summer on different continents. you got teams signing players from foreign markets just to cash in on shirt sales.

the nfl makes all of its money from ONE country. a country that is turning against it, little by little

and if the english league goes under, the game is played at an elite level in at least 2-3 other countries, and at a high level in many more, INCLUDING THIS ONE. the game itself is not inextricably linked to the league. if the nfl takes a hit, what happens? brehs gonna support the alouettes?

now why the fukk is everyone in this thread obsessed with soccer? who's gonna answer that question?

:what:

America is supposedly turning against the NFL little by little.... yet this past Super Bowl was the most watched TV broadcast in American history. what you're saying is not adding up.

with your logic, the Super Bowl should be progressively losing viewership year by year.... yet it's rising :heh:

If the NFL takes a hit... College Football exists :heh:.... Football is not going anywhere, any time soon.... and in the event that the NCAA finally caves and lets schools pay players, Athletic departments revenues are going to skyrocket.

This is America, when the fukk did the well-being of people matter when entertainment and dollars are of utmost importance?

the Seahawks vs. Packers game was up 7% from last year’s Thursday kickoff with an audience of 26.9 million. Not only is that the third best kickoff game in terms of total viewers, but it is also the most watched single broadcast on TV since the March 2 Oscars telecast, which was seen by a stellar 43.7 million. That said, don’t be surprised if the Sunday Night Football game between Denver and the Indianapolis Colts swings at last night’s number. In terms of network NFL on Thursdays, there won’t be more on NBC this season but CBS starts its 8-game run on September 11 – and they must like the sound of last night’s numbers.

Tipping. Point.

there's a reason for this (and it's the reason why die hard football fans think the product isn't as good as it used to)

more offense.

This is "chicks dig the long ball" era of football

Football is easily my favorite sport. But you're in denial. Your affinity for the game is clouding your reason. Everything horse kills and Malta are saying is true. The long term trajectory for the sport's popularity does not look good.
yet the sports keeps growing

I wish they'd stop altering the rules but its still by far the most enjoyable sport to watch and root for. America seems to agree.

Unless America stops being America, and turns into another country... Football will still be king.

You acting like Football is Evisu jeans or Throwbacks

Maybe they can have the World Cup every 2 months.
