The MCU might have a problem they don't know about yet.

They don’t have Spider-Man, their biggest character of all. Sony will never relinquish that IP. At best, they’ll let Disney foot the bill and make Sony a Spider-Man movie but they’ll never give him to Disney.
I didn't say they would. And it's a 75/25 split regarding who 'foot the bill'. lol

How did they mishandle Black Panther?

They don't have one at all...and the movie has disaster all over it. From the beginning, they should have recast the role. It gets them out of any bind, and leaves every opportunity open, and they don't have to shift the movie to one by committee. Once the decision was made to not recast, whatever future plans Marvel had for T'Challa were thrown out.

I've said it numerous times through the past 3 years. They really didn't have much of a plan for anything after Endgame. They had Spidey 2 already in the can, and the only sure things at that point was BP2 & Captain Marvel 2.

Thor 4 wasn't a thing until they saw the reaction to their chemistry in Endgame, Hemsworth said he would continue to play Thor, and Guardians 3 was shelved. Dr Strange 2 didn't have a script or even a greenlight. Even Shang Chi was fasttracked after they saw the success of BP.

The thing is that Marvel's IP is more based around super teams than individual superheroes and that might be a slight problem for them in the next 2-4 years until they introduce the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

The problem with streaming is that you'd be depending on casuals (who you need) to follow the multiverse storyline when that's just not going to happen with everyone. Like I said in a previous post, for a lot of casuals their investment in the storyline ended with Endgame and there's no guarantee that they'll still have a devotion or new investment in this current story arc.

Just because someone has Disney Plus doesn't mean that they will consume every bit of Marvel content on there and it'd be naive to think that's the case.
I hear you, but casuals didn't watch every Marvel movie neither. They don't even watch post-credit scenes unless they got a friend reminding them to. shyt, I don't consider myself a casual really and I definitely skipped some without it hurting my enjoyment of the showdown installments. If anything, it helped since it reduced my superhero fatigue. I had not seen any Thor movie (including Ragnarok) when I went to see IW, and the beginning still was fire to me. It was like picking up a random comic volume and being invested right from the bat.

I think they'll be fine skipping on the TV shows, especially if they limit themselves to light introductions. You don't need to see Loki before watching the last Spider-Man and I doubt you'll need to before watching Ant-Man 3, even with the new Kang.

They need to hurry up and get the X Men popping.. It's essentially a whole other MCU and they can bring in new fans with new origin movies. Young actors... Some older, big names for the older mutants.. When that gets thin, mix them up with the old MCU... rinse, wash, repeat

yeah Magneto & Charles,Storm (they can replicate black panther type success or just have her be in Black Panther 3), Wolverine Origin films, and let the initial X men movie be the Avenger level Event.

With the OG story, you just needed to know about the stones and not necessarily where they originated from. The Multiverse is a different subject though as it brings it's own set of problem and potential confusion to even hardcore viewers let alone casuals.

Yeah, that's true. Different universes and timelines complicate the whole thing. Endgame showed a glimpse of that.

Somebody died that they knew and loved. Sorry they didn't pivot to recast as quickly as you would like. Instead of compassion all you got is complaints. And it's too early to say it was mishandled the sequel hasn't come out yet and you don't know what they plan to do and how it will be received.

They are saving them for when they need them and the plan they had before they got the rights back starts losing steam with the audience. Mutants are an instant boost to the Brand the second they are coming to theaters. Why waste it when you are already flying high and running the Box office? Plus, the more distance they can get time wise from Fox's attempts the better.

This is exactly what's going on in my household right now. While I've watched all the episodes on Disney Plus to keep up with that what's going on, others are not interested and still watching phase one and two movies. Some of it has to do with us not going to the movies but even the stuff that has arrived on D+ we have only watched Black Widow together.

I think the thread and people in here are explaining that THIS IS THE FALLOFF... it's already happening. Nobody care about any of these characters and movies but Spidey and maybe Strange
