They are pulling stories from comics that no one liked. Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel do not sell comics and have constant reboots.

Marvel chased away the core audience. Instead of making films/shows about the X-Men, F4 and the Silver Surfer... they put out shyt that no one asked for.
:yeshrug: The MCU has proven that they can turn b-d list characters into household names. Captain Marvel has always been a boring character, but the MCU could’ve written her as a more Interesting character. So the characters that Marvel chooses to focus on isn’t the problem. Think about it…people cared more about the death of Iron Man. A b-list character than the death of Synder’s Superman the most ironic superhero ever lol.

Because they put the work in over the years and had a charismatic actor holding things together.

This took years to build.

As they say a rising tide lifts all ships. The MCU formula and it is a formula used to be iron tight and I agree they could launch a movie tie it into the Infinity saga and it would be a hit.

But 90% of what's launched post Endgame has been all over the place and general audiences aka fickle movie watchers could not tell you what's happening in the MCU these days outside of maybe Spiderman which is a character that will always do well.

Once you lose those folks its hard. Marvel had them trained.

See new movie > watch post credit scenes > another movie along in three to four months. > go see it.

It was like clockwork and planned pretty miraculously. They've squandered that audience.

But whose fault is that? The formula was never iron tight though. They just had people harping on what was to come. Individually, damn near all of the movies were divisive. So you're saying people accepted the bad movies because something larger was coming. That still doesn't change that a movie was bad.

They informed the people prior to Infinity War/End Game that after that, they were not going to do an overarching story again. Yet people still are anticipating what they said they weren't doing?

Everything takes place in the same universe. That's pretty much all that's consistent. Whether it ties together for a greater story or not, doesn't change that fact. The writing was on the wall they were going to lean into Team-up adventure 1-off movies for their next iteration. People really shouldn't expect more.

I tried to tell everyone about the trash formula of generic villains and everyone being a comedian. It worked for Stark because Downey Jr. is a great actor and it worked for GOTG because of the ridiculous team aspect and Gunn's writing..

But what were the most memorable moments of the MCU? It was anytime they dropped that dumb shyt and put some weight into the writing.

Thanos whole arc and Infinity War
"I don't feel so good..."
Cap and Bucky
Cap vs. Stark
Black Panther and Killmonger

It's the dramatic moments that we want. :ohlawd:
