I wonder how this varies by race. I wonder if more black people have an internal monologue because we've been so isolated/rejected that we "go inside of ourselves" (if that makes sense) and think, internally, before we express ourselves. I wonder if it is less common among the white populations because they haven't had to stifle themselves, and have been allowed to express themselves, with a much more broad range, while living in a society that validates those expressions. I talk to myself, inside my head, all the time. I spend a good amount of time in my own head. I also wonder if having an internal monologue is more common among introverts than extroverts. This is very interesting.
