And you seen ALL these genetic test done on AA's????????? Like I said AA's are extremely MIXED when it comes to ancestry. Morgan Freemen actually has ancestry from the Sonnike people and Tuareg people! A judge(forget her name) has ancestry from the Hausa people.

Chris Tucker has ancestry from Angola. Again mixed...

Spike Lee also had Tuareg ancestry from Niger the other half was Cameroon but I can't remember the tribe.

150% Yoruba Nigerian:blessed:. Used to get roasted in middle school for being African by predominantly African Americas. Used to just look at them with the :what: face. #WAFA:blessed:. Instead of trying to use it as a way to fight we should unify. That's why I've never got into Igbo/ Yoruba bickering. If your Igbo we damn near cousins :russ:

a lot of african americans i've passed by really don't look like the yoruba and igbos. THEY REALLY DON'T. I believe it got nothing to do with mixing in their ancestry. Also i don't really believe those dna tests that say your from a specific ethnic group, i've heard their faulty. You really got to match your face with those ethnic groups to see that. I've went to school with a boy who look like the people from the adamandese island.

Most of the Nigerians and Ghanians I meet assume that I am Ghanian when they first meet me. My people probably come from there but I'll never really know.

In our language(surinamese) we still use a lot of words with a direct african ancestry."Unu" means "us" in our dialect."Okro" =okra,"na" means to be as in "Mi na"= I am.Redi or bonkoro =redbone.A lot of false claiming though amongst descendants of slaves in South America, depending on where you are.Claming Ashanti heritage is popular amongst the older people but it's been known that most of the slaves in Suriname are from Central africa and the westcoast(Benin,Ivorycoast,Ghana etc..). Some of the descendants of the runaway slaves (Ba'ala/djuka) have retained way more of the original speech and i've heard them actually speak to born Africans and understand each other although the meaning and pronounciation of words had changed.

These words are similar to Bantu languages spoken in East/Southern Africa. In Nguni languages like Zulu, Ndebele, Xhosa "mina" means the same things and in Shona "Hunhu" describes collective values which corresponds to the "Ubuntu" concept in South Africa.

From what i've heard Angola/Sudan but in smaller numbers. The portugese where also rumored to trade slaves with arabs when they first started shipping slaves out for the slave markets, the arabs had knowledge of tribes that dealt with them and captured and sold slaves to the arabs.
My father is of Senegambian/Ivory Coast descent and my mother is of Ghanian descent, but in Suriname it was common practice for the slave owners to not buy too much slaves from the same region for fear of uprising, they knew that a shared language, tribal past and religion would cause slaves to organise and that would be disastrous.

Props. Yeah usually I don't really consider Sudan and Angola as "Central Africa", but that's kind of arbitrary anyway.

I will be honest with myself, when it comes to north american blacks i really don't see cultural similarities to west africans. South americans and Caribbeans, yes.

Too much damn admixture.

As and Actual African (I'm assuming you are), what do you see, in North American blacks if anything.

Our genes are strong, man.... I knew most of the Afram equivalents of the pictures before I scrolled down LOL

I was like "That dude looks like Pac, that dude looks just like Garnett, that's MJ's lankier twin", etc.

African Americans look just as much like people from the Congo and from Cameroon. In my opinion the people of Cameroon and the Congo look like dead on ringers for most African Americans. I am an African American and I couldn't tell you the difference between most Black people from Cameroon and the USA until they started speaking. To me the look is that similar.

i'm nigerian descent, I don't know but i remeber i saw a video on youtube. The person was like how african american weren't african(doubt that) but of descent of native american who were black(the natives were actually a mixture of aborigines and islands surrounding australia/ black mongols).
there was this website i've been on for a while. You really have to sit down and read what their saying.
