I only really search my local places 50 cent room. I dig for hours haha. Ive found some crazy stuff in there. Camrons purple haze was a good find. The dude that runs it, hides all the hip hop (thats in the 50 room) in one section on the floor, under stacks of records for me. And I go every week on the same day, same time. And 5 minutes from being there hell bring new crates in, and be like here these are new.

Just find a spot and dig man, it'll come to you. The best thing about vinyl is the people you meet and the people that know the hustle.

Ill get you some pics and some jazz soul records.

Dug this up the other day

also dug up a sealed copy of Chino XL "No complex" (1995)

for my punk-ish fans ... I just picked up 20 7" singles from the Sympathy For the Record Industry label.

Paid about 2 bucks apiece for them. I don't really worry about value, because I'm not selling.

Can't wait to bust them all out and have a few beers while I listen to them.

Even better that most of your collection is non hip hop. I am trying to start collecting Jazz(I am alright with the soul), but if you have any suggestions on good jazz records(Soul too) to start with I would appreciate it. I can never really pull the trigger on Jazz records. B/C frankly as much as I think I know about Jazz, I really don't know shyt.

And to be honest, I buy records to listen to, not sample or Dj or what not. Post like yours is why made this thread(and others in this thread), which is to get obscure records records from crate diggers like yourself..

maynard ferguson, grover washington jr, thelonious monk, miles, john coltrane, duke ellington, sonny rollins are a few i like.

the great thing about jazz is for the most part every album is gonna be good music. of course some are better than others but its all just instruments so you don't have to worry about lyrics being better on one album vs another.

start with cheap stuff though, there's soo much variety in jazz, i was really apprehensive at first to buy records but you'll find what you like.

and jazz compilations are the shyt, that cool scene record i posted a while back has been getting a lot of play recently. it sounds dumb but if the cover looks cool i usually go for it if its a few bucks.

Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca and the Soul brother.

I just want to say something about the WTT record.

Everywhere I looked on line for this record was over a 100$. Finally found it in a favourite shop of mine for a decent price. The packaging is incredible. But the record it's self is awful. Of course it is not surprising that a picture record is bad. But this shyt for the money they charging is ridicules. The sound is meh to bad. This might be as bad as the Killers Sams town record, the only difference is the packaging.

But I am not going to lie, the packaging is amazing on WTT, might be worth it alone.

the college dropout quality was only alright too. surprising for an artist like kanye to not have higher quality records compared to other rappers. how is 808s and HB?

Bra, all Kanye vinyl is a fukking disaster sound wise. I swear dude is more concerned with the packaging. 808's is not as bad, but shyt, since you reminded me, it is close.

Arctic Monkeys AM is fukking beautiful, you will not regret coping that.

Like I said, I may be overreacted to WTT. It just does not sound warm and crisp, like good vinyl. My ears may be different then yours. It sounds better then MP3 and CD. I am just grading it on a vinyl scale.

The vocals like with 808, seem to be a after thought over the beats. When it should be a harmony between the two. If that makes sense..
