You all made this excuse since November 2016. Dont lie now.
It was "trust the voters" until they rejected your boy twice
Quote me.
2016, I thought the two biggest issues were that Bernie got a late start on a real campaign (cause for the first few months he was only campaigning part time without any real expectation to win, just trying to make a point about policy), and then once he got some momentum the DNC flipped out and started trying to game the primaries to hurt him. Even Elizabeth Warren said that 2016 was rigged.
When asked by PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff whether she thought the election was rigged, Warren said: “I think it was.”
“The process was rigged and now it is up to Democrats to build a new process, a process that really works and works for everyone,” Warren said, adding that people need to have confidence in the integrity of the system.
“It’s got to have an outcome that really has the confidence of the people,” she said.
In 2020, I thought the three main issues were:
* captured media made ridiculous, disingenuous attacks on Sanders (comparing his campaign to the Nazis, bringing up 1980s quotes on Cuba completely out of context as the main headline while ignoring total lies that Biden was telling in his campaign speeches in real time).
* which they doubled down on to promote a completely false image that "Sanders can't win a general election" despite every poll showing differently, a narrative that some voters had believed already despite their affinity for him and others only believed cause the media and party pushed it so hard
* and then the entire party leadership voltroned behind a candidate who had only averaged 13% and a 4th place finish in the first three primaries, a candidate who was getting wiped out handily for the 3rd time in his 3rd presidential run, with the Jim Clyburn endorsement and the dropout / Biden endorsement of all remaining Democratic candidates sealing the deal for Biden.
Those have always been my analysis of why Bernie lost those races. You claiming that I blamed the voters and said they didn't care about the poor / working class is a total lie.
And you're STILL not addressing the fact that you falsely accused me of blaming the voters and mocked that excuse, then you immediately turned to blaming the voters yourself. Until 2020, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden had lost every federal election they had ever run, and when Biden finally broke through it was by the slimmest of margins despite fantastic conditions. They're a combined 1 for 5 and damn close to 0 for 5. They are awful candidates, yet somehow you want to portray them as great winners. It's an entirely fabricated narrative.
