It wasn't super, it was painfully obvious. You defeat fascism by offering better alternatives. How is that even controversial?

You, on the other hand, seem to think we defeat fascism by berating nonvoters, kissing the ass of landlords and Wall Street, and launching false attacks on your own fukking coalition when they ask for more.

Then you act surprised when you struggle to get Black and Brown voters to the polls.
Why do you care about black and brown voters if youre chasing the bernie to trump voter??

@88m3, do you seriously think that fascism is solely a rich white phenomena? When you see TLR threads openly pushing fascism, do you assume they're just white trust fund babies in blackface? When Duterte or Bolsonaro or Modi win elections, who do you blame? Do you think African fascism or Caribbean fascism are fairy tales?

Let me quote the prophet Silvio Gesell again. This is what he wrote in 1918:

Gesell knew how nationalists found their power, to the point where he was able to perfectly predict the most dramatic story line of the 20th century.

Racist pricks will always exist. Beyond improved integration and better moral education in public schools (which I'm sure only has a slow impact), I don't really know an effective government strategy to reduce their numbers. But what we can do is reduce their power. And the way you reduce their power is by creating a better system than they can offer so the critical mass of support doesn't enter their corner.

It's ironic that @Pressure called me an accelerationist, when the only hope you seem to have for voter turnout is when Trump and company create a reality so bad that your piss-poor alternative looks good in comparison.
The United States is our context, not the global south.

You are an accelerationist if you're pushing global framing on a domestic issue.

Posting exit poll %'s without turnout numbers in order to claim enthusiasm for a group is always really disingenuous.

As far as what I chose to do professionally why can't you just be happy for me that I was able to escape our country and the worlds terrible work culture?

Because it's profiting off of economic rents. You're not improving the work culture, you're just shifting the burden onto others by using your access to capital in order to profit without actually producing anything or doing much work, while others with less access to capital get charged a premium.

I don't have anything nice to say about Wall Street.

Sadly, the Democratic Party has been absolutely beholden to them for the last 30 years if not longer and basically lets them write the relevant legislation and policy.

How am I attacking our coalition?

I'm part of the coalition. I've worked my ass off to push people away from the Republican Party, and I heavily advocated not voting for Trump in both elections and debunked false attacks on Clinton and Biden frequently. Yet there's a certain core of posters here who seem more offended by me than they are by right-wingers.

No matter how distasteful I find corporate and centrist dems, there has never been the slightest doubt on this board that I have 10x as much anger towards right-wingers. I can point to dozens of right-wingers that I've helped get out of the paint on this website and thus made a notable difference in how much of their propaganda gets spread. I've never invested remotely as much energy in attacking others on the left, not in a single thread nor on the site as a whole. But the same can't be said for some of you. Hell, 90% of my strongest attacks on your crew are simply in response, it's not like I'm even starting shyt. Yet I find myself getting tagged into new arguments by some of you over and over in a way that you rarely ever tag right-wingers.

the way people vote is more important than why they vote

Huh? You seem to have a reading comprehension fail. The people who DON'T VOTE are just as important in measuring enthusiasm as the ones who do vote.

You claimed that youth enthusiasm for democrats was high because 63% of them voted blue in 2022. You completely ignored that only 30% of the 18-29 group turned out in 2022, a significant dropoff from 2018 (and 2018 already sucked to start with, as the youth vote does every year, but at least that huge progressive energy in 2018 meant they came much more than normal).

Black turnout in 2022 was just 45%, another dropoff from 2018.

Hispanic turnout was even less, under 40%.

That's why it's bullshyt for you to claim those groups are enthusiastic for Democrats and Biden just because they're not voting for Republicans. Most of them aren't voting at all. Proves how stupid it is to focus on the 1% that Cornell West is going to get when the majority of your core groups aren't even voting at all.

people who don't vote don't count

No wonder y'all keep failing.

"60% of Hispanics, 55% of Black people, and 70% of youth didn't even vote.....let's just ignore that problem by saying they don't count and instead focus on the 1% of contrarians who will vote for Cornell West. That's the winning strategy!"

So I guess you're succeeding with your agenda, and all this bytching about the Supreme Court, the House, Manchim, Sienma, not having a supermajority, etc. is a big nothingburger because Biden's in the president's desk so you think you're winning right now? :dahell:

The hubris and tone-deafness here is incredible. You barely fukking beat the worst president of all time, in the middle of one of the worst American disasters of all time, with extremely favorable temporary voting rules. And that alone is enough for you to claim that you're winning and don't need to do any better, ignoring ALL the other problems and your extreme difficulty in passing transformative legislation or anything that addresses our nation's existential crises,.

You really showed your ass. 8-post bury to get this off the page coming in 3....2....1....
