Just wrapped up Trails in the Sky SC. It is kind of funny how FC felt like a prologue to this game. But great characters, story, writing, and music. And combat is really good. Easily earns its status as a definitive classic. Granted playing on hard was a bytch as it is a SIGNIFICANT difficulty increase from FC.

While Trails may or not be for everyone. Any JRPG fan owes it to themself to play this game (well FC since it is necessary lol). And I played this through Bootcamp so there is no excuse.

Now on to Sky the 3rd.
Now you're hooked.:mjlit:

You'll beat that game in a week.:russ:

After finishing up the Trails in the Sky Trilogy all on hard. Honestly Sky the 3rd is my favorite of the 3. It easily was the most enjoyable gameplay & combat-wise. Even though SC had the better story it isn't by much. SC just felt overwhelming difficult at times. Granted once you get to a certain point in the 3rd it becomes easy to break the game.

Anyway time to start the Crossbell games starting with Zero.

Why not wait for the official localizations?

The localization for those games is based on the Geofront patches. I will still support the official releases when they come out. But waiting for the official localization for a first playthrough doesn't make any sense if you have access to the patches.

If you've played Cold Steel but not Crossbell it's better to wait because the follow up game is like 2023. If you've played neither its also better to wait but maybe play Cold Steel I and then the two Crossbell games then Cold Steel II and continue from there.

Since I played the patched games and Cold Steel I'll have 2 and a half to 3 years of downtime before I can play a new game.

I mean I plan to play Hajimari with spreadsheets sometime next year. Obviously not optimal but still a solid option given the wait time for the game.

Just wrapped up Trails from Zero and :wow:. This legit was classic JRPG status. Despite the pacing being a little slow in the beginning, it has everything you want out of a great JRPG. Essentially you take Sky, but you just redefine the gameplay to make it much more balanced. Although it is worth pointing this isn't a starting entry point in the series. Also, the first time playing on nightmare difficulty wasn't that bad tbh.

Time to start Azure.

Man, they outdid themselves with Trails to Azure coming from Zero :wow:.

Outside of 2 boss fights which required some different strategical approaches playing on nightmare was a blast and was more enjoyable than even Sky SC on hard.

Time to start with Cold Steel. And I gotta admit playing these games will be refreshing since it seems to be fully voiced after getting to the prologue. Even if it ends up being a step down from Azure that ain't a bad thing. Since Azure is a JRPG that not many can top.

That trade conference was some of the best Trails until it all went to hell aboard the Pantagruel.

Just finished Cold Steel 1. Was expecting it to be pretty slow and some of the events are sort of revealed in Azure. But it isn't a big deal since Azure came before CS 1. That last portion really kicked things into overdrive just like how Sky FC was. Well onto Cold Steel 2.

I can't get over the amount of Renne in that trailer. Seems like she's gonna be more than a cameo in this. If she's the new Tita in this series I'm loving it. It's funny cause I hated her in Sky SC but in Cold Steel IV she leaped over everyone to become my favorite character.
