Check out this tidbit Miyamoto drops about having to eat certain foods to climb higher. It's looking like they all played Shadow of the Colossus and said fukk it we are putting all this shyt in our next Zelda game.
Cliff Notes of 5 Favorite Things in Breath of the Wild by Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma.
Miyamoto: 1.) Horses.
Aonuma: 4 years of development by one designer and one programmer. They also were in charge of the other animals. You can also use warps though and other forms of transportation.
Miyamoto: 2.) Climbing. What we really strugged with during those 4 years was making alot of the environment climbable and/or fun such as climbing to the top of trees, up walls and cliffs but you need to eat certan foods that will let you climb higher
Eiji Aonuma: 3.) Game Physics. Having to use the in-game physics to figure out puzzles. Sometimes you gotta stack up stuff carefully like Tetris or you can use brute strength.
Eiji Aonuma 4.) Story. We love how well the story is put together but because it's open-world, it's on a different Time-Axis. We don't want players to get lost and confused if they haven't progressed in the story and started up again randomly so we have a "sneaky way" to put players back on track.
Eiji Aonuma 5.) Natural Environment and how it effects gameplay. Night and day transition and weather effects. Ambience and music.
Eiji Aonumua Bonus.) Zelda is so cute.
