why would Tommy do that in front of 5 strangers … and neverless why do u think they rewrote that part for HBO :hubie:

:manny:
Though they rescued Abby in the game, she put in a little work too.

Even through the stress they had a basic human respect for each other. Why would he hide his name if they thought he killed everybody. What were they going to do? Look it up on the internet?

They made plenty of other changes in the show because it’s a TV show. It can’t let pacing run wild like a video game, and the SHOWRUNNERS can highlight different things they think the viewer should be focused on.

:why:
Stop consuming this like someone with Asperger’s. Just enjoy the ride fam.

youre right

I guess it’s just the overwhelming Abby hate that bothers me because she has a very very valid reason for killing Joel. But it’s conveyed so poorly that majority of people just hate her from jump.

And like I said the creators KNEW this and tried to fix it. They gave us a couple “sentimental” moments with Abby and explained why she hated Joel. I think they knew surprising everyone with this in the game didn’t work as expected. But it still wasn’t enough, most people don’t like Abby once again. The online hate is massive.

Honestly they probably needed a full episode of Abby and her crew before killing Joel if they wanted to balance things out more.
The only way to fix this biased viewpoint is to have run concurrent fireflies scenes throughout season 1 that create an emotional attachment to their mission. That's actually what GoT so great. Houses had an unbalanced but enough air time that folks could pick and choose.

Your breakdown of Abby's view vs Joel vs Ellie is spot on. Great analysis.

If the following episodes still focus on Jackson, boy is the city fukked.

They already didn't have enough manpower to deal with the needed repairs. Now there's no way they get done any time soon. On top of that, of the folks left, how many have the skills required to help rebuild? Joel was not just a shooter. He was essentially their chief engineer. Who steps in now? You pretty much have to take in refugees to replace the folks you lost, but how can you help them if you need to rebuild after such a large attack? This event has the potential to break their solidarity tbh.

howd these zombies find their way up the stairs :why:
Honestly, their entire strategy was poor from the outset. You want to fallback to the base after having wiped them out on the perimeter. You don't start the battle at your gate lol.

They had great security set up for humans and a terrible plan for the infected. No moats that could be set on fire. No moats with spikes. What's the point of having an empty field in front of you if the infected can run their 40 at you unimpeded? Why set up flamethrowers, which require you to be up close to the infected, INSIDE the gates and without giving the user any environmental protection? No paths that funneled the infected into exploding barrels? No tripping hazards. Why hasn't a truck been outfitted as a tank yet?

Piss poor planning. They depended way too much on the guns and distance.

because there’s no way in the absolute world - Joel sees that huge ass explosion while riding this stranger who he just fukking saved her life to some random ass cabin and chooses to take her back rather than the place where he has lived for over five years , invested & helped built up that community , where his biological brother is and his surrogated daughter is … YET doesn’t stop and tell that bytch to hop off & head back to Jackson

that shyt literally makes no fukking sense

:snoop: :snoop: :snoop: the writing absolutely atrocious :snoop::snoop::snoop:

Sure, he’ll just ride his horse through that big 100 strong horde that was directly behind them, and even when they peeled off towards the wall how was he gonna get past that?

you don’t like the story, we get it…but you don’t have to display a complete lack of common sense or critical thinking while arguing with everyone in here just to let everyone know you don’t like it

I just finished the game yesterday for the second time, and both times I always felt like Abby was justified and Joel and Ellie were selfish villains.

second play, I started using Abby more melee based (first time I played I used her more like Ellie), and damn that shyt was way more fun. Once I realized she does one hit melee with tools, fukk 'cover' I went around bullying and skull cracking the shyt out of the scars with zero fukks.

and for the person that said it doesnt matter that Abby isnt yoked on the show, you did not play Abby as she was intended to be played. They made her arms that size for a reason, she runs 3 times faster than Ellie, for a reason. She is a hyper aggressive vengeful player, she's damn near a female Kratos. The woman on the show is not that.

I like the show tho.

When they were talking about their people staying off the street I thought they would have traps in the street.. nope

So you think Joel leaving Dina to a stranger in a random ass cabin was something Joel would do? He couldn't take Dina to Jackson seeing that shyt was crawling with infected to the point they had to use the "lit shyt on fire" strategy and he didn't know if he could even make it in the storm. It's one thing for him to sacrifice himself for others, but I don't see him sacrificing someone like Dina.

Bro thank you. Someone said the muscles didn’t matter when this chick first got cast to be Abby….

I’m like dude you clearly never played the game. Her entire identity was based around her size and strength. Its mentioned so many times in the game, and her play style is based on that. Her melee damage is higher than Ellie even though she uses a knife. Abby's melee weapons are different and she can use the bigger weapons that Ellie can't lift. And her base health is even higher. Shes a goddamn tank. Its like saying the Hulk's muscles don't matter.

Hmm, yea they havent mentioned her size and strength in the show. It's almost like maybe they wont be focusing so hard on her strength/physique in the show? :jbhmm:

The fact they didnt cast a muscle chick for the role shouldve told yall they were going different direction. Focusing more on the mental strength/hardness losing her father like that, instead of the outward strength hardness.

Inner strength > outer strength seems to be the path for show abby.

Clearly they won't be focusing on her size in the show, because they choose the smallest actress in the series so far to play her. They are going in a different direction completely with the character. I suspect they either struggled to find actresses with the build to pull off source Abby, or they felt some of the content related to her strength wouldn't translate well to the show so they completely changed her character.

The point of the matter is, its ridiculous to say her muscles don't matter when its literally all that mattered in the game. This is basically a different character we are seeing.
