this is on obsolete/dated hardware that dropped in 2006 and looks better than much of what I seen ran on the highest PC gpus tho

Yes, I still can't really tell 720 from 1080........this isn't 480p v.s 1080, the differences aren't major.
and Far Cry 3 on Ultra on my 680 looks identical to those gifs u posted posted and the game is running on hardware that's 7 yrs old, looks way better than Tomb Raider on ultra also

3 new AAA exclusives dropping soon (Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls and GT6) + GTA5 + Last Guardian sometime next year possibly and u decide to throw it in the bushes?
and even if u gave zero fuks about those games its still the only console where the Uncharted series can be played, that alone warrants it to be kept
