Then by your logic we’re supposed to assume she didn’t either? Even tho it’s more implied she did, and I told you in the post you literally quoted, they clearly wanted you to find that out through the Abby flashback when you realise who her dad is
nikka... I stated she doesn't know about Abby's dad and nikkas in here trying to say otherwise when it was NEVER told to Ellie throughout the game.
Yeah, us the player. Not us as Ellie.
She still has a redemption arc if they somehow find a way to make a cure.

You not liking the idea you don’t get to actually see her find that out and whether or not it actually happened are 2 different things, I naturally just assumed from her demeanour after she leaves the hospital where she is shaking ect implied she found that out, they are all their with Abby when they kill Joel and let Abby do the deed because they know how important that is to her, Nora knew she was dying in that hospital corridor, and had no problem calling Joel a little bytch to Ellie’s face either, to me it just seems way more likely she told her exactly who and why instead of being vague about it and just saying he killed some fireflies

Now that it dropped and all these paid corporate critics giving it 10/10 across the boards and the creators are giving "deep dives" about the writing now it's "hmmm guess its not so bad, people were just being emotional"

What major details did we not get? Joel died via torture by Abby cuz he killed her father. Now we have to play with this character which we already hate and don't give a fukk about. And then we have to beat the shyt out of Ellie with this character only to end up saving her when we finally get our shot at revenge. This is literally the bulk of the story. You nikkas caping for this shyt mean to tell me none of y'all think Naughty Dog could've did better than this??? Stop it.

Of course it would've... Y'all keep trying to sell us this "it's more poetic to have let her live" shyt. That's just some feminine melodramatic bullshyt to have people debating to try and recreate the end of the first game with open ended discussion. The whole motivation of Ellie's journey is to kill Abby. shyt, just as you're walking towards the beach Ellie's even saying "Abby, Abby, Abby, Abby," on some major obsession type shyt like "where are you, come out and play." Ellie wanted BLOOD. But suddenly, flash back to Joel on a porch playing his guitar and it's "I don't wanna do this anymore, just go
" after we just went on this Rambo killing spree and risked everything to get here...

Ellie kills Abby = Dina/JJ still gone along with her fingers, Lev dies or avenges Abby, but every kill you up to that point dosnt seem pointless, and it makes just as much narrative sense for the scene at the end where she sits the guitar down leaving Joel in the past for good knowing she killed his killer, but also understanding it cost her everything.

like the discussion yesterday tho I don’t think that ending was made for the fukk of it, I completely understand what they were going for and understand all of the parallels ect. But Even the cutscene where she talks about forgiving Joel eventually, that could of hit just as hard knowing she didn’t go that same route by being consumed with revenge
