Just started a new game plus, it’s the little things you don’t pick up the first time

Dina: what are ya doing tonight?

Ellie: I was Er..gonna invite Joel to a movie

Dina: oh...you guys good?

Ellie: ......yeah :ehh:

:to:

Yup, they were going to watch a movie after more than a year without any legit interactions besides "hello" and patrol stuff :mjcry:

Of course it would've... Y'all keep trying to sell us this "it's more poetic to have let her live" shyt. That's just some feminine melodramatic bullshyt to have people debating to try and recreate the end of the first game with open ended discussion. The whole motivation of Ellie's journey is to kill Abby. shyt, just as you're walking towards the beach Ellie's even saying "Abby, Abby, Abby, Abby," on some major obsession type shyt like "where are you, come out and play." Ellie wanted BLOOD. But suddenly, flash back to Joel on a porch playing his guitar and it's "I don't wanna do this anymore, just go :to:" after we just went on this Rambo killing spree and risked everything to get here... :dahell::dahell::dahell::dahell:

All of y'all defending this shyt probably the same ones that thought Titanic had a great ending too.. bunch of feminine ass SJW's in here. Disgusting. :hhh:

There's nothing SJW about having a sensible character arc. The point of her sparing Abby is that she remembered her last conversation with Joel which was about atonement and the futility of resentment. There's a lot more to unpack there in terms of "themes" (for example Ellie does the opposite of Joel in making a selfish decision and instead does what's right), but I'd like for people to explain how killing Abby would have made sense other than "She fulfills her bloodlust"

I feel like Ellie should have killed Abby/Lev more so as there’s literally nothing stopping them from making it to Catalina Island telling them that Ellie is still alive. Just because they wouldn’t go after her doesn’t mean the rest of the group feels the same especially if they know what all went down.

Flash back Within a flashback storytelling is just fukking nightmare storytelling

Gameplay was ok average gets old fast

Graphics are perfect but thats it.

No online mode

Wait till it's on sale to buy it...
I like the game, but I agree, sounds effects, graphics and game play was good enough to make it mostly enjoyable.
But the pacing was off, the first open area and the flash back were unnecessary felt like time wasted (or could have been shorten). How many time did we really need to walk down the hospital corridor from TLOU1?

I feel like the game is a mixed bag of sloppily written moments (like going back to that hospital 3 times), but also the most heart pumping and enjoyable action you'll get from a game, and some otherwise very well done story components too. They had me as immersed as one can be in a non-VR setting and I was hooked from start to finish.

In my opinion though, the few controversial choices the game made with the story and the huge backlash over the leaks which now has the internet on a crusade against it (because people get too invested in the success / failure of videogames nowadays) is attaching more debate to the game than it warrants.

The game is not perfect and I thought the story too often veered into "fanfic territory", but people are doing the most arguing about this like they committed literary genocide. Is Joel dying early in the game really that much of a shock? They teased that in the very first trailer 4 years ago. You didn't like how they killed him and you resent them for making you play as Abby after the fact? That's the whole point of the story fam, to make you empathize with a person who is morally on a straighter path than both Joel and Ellie.

I also think they relied too much on elements from the first game which places the unattainable expectation of LOU1 on its shoulders and also artistically restricts the story to a bottle that you have to formulate everything around it. I found the Scars vs. Wolves gang war and the whole plot with Lev/Yara to be the most fascinating aspects of the story, and I was also left wanting more from Jesse and Dina and life in Jackson. The Joel / Ellie story felt like too much of familiar territory, even though it's obviously nice to see those characters and that relationship again.

What is it about the coli and you nikkas need and desire to be contrarions? If everyone likes this, the coli gonna say it's wack. If everyone hates this, the coli will say it's dope. Literally every user rating for this game is lower than the last game. Y'all just have this need to be different and play devil's advocate at every turn.

But yes, Ellie killing Abby makes the most fukking sense in the world. Ellie kills Abby, it would prove to her and us the gamer that it doesn't being her any real peace. The PTSD doesn't go away and she ends up alone and broken more than before. Throughout the game Ellie convinced herself that she NEEDS to kill Abby, especially the second attempt. For her to just not was fukking stupid. Especially at the moment she loses 2 of her fingers. You lose two fingers in a fight and you see if you gonna let the person responsible get away with it in the moment :rudy:

You not only NOT kill Abby, but you free her and let her live her life. This shyt was fukking trash b

The game came out at 12:00 Am and those user reviews were posted at 12:01 AM , so most of them were not legit.
Also , the game user score used to be at like 3.4 and now its at 4.6 from people that have actually finish the game.
it is not easy to elevate an average score with 80,000 user reviews weighting it down already.
