Storyline wise, this is a post apocalyptic wasteland. It shouldn't have a nice happy ending realistically. Joel is the villain in the first game, he murders numerous doctors in the end that were just looking to find a cure to help humans survive for his own selfish reasons.

The doctor's daughter seeking revenge gives weight to a world where you murder the NPCs without a second thought. Shows that there are consequences and lasting effects to your actions within the games universe.

Dudes just complaining to complain breh.

Joel was dead for a few chapters in the first game.

You start off playing as his daughter she dies.

Ellie was gay in a whole dlc. Now nikkas want to act brand new bc a old battered cac gets caught slipping and a 120 pound gay white chick gets the shyt beat out her:mjlol:

Who didn't think any of this was going to happen ?

Yeah I'm not mad about it. This world has plenty different perspectives to work with. I just wish Abby was sexy. If I'm gonna play with a chick at least make her eye candy or just easier on the eyes. fukk I wanna be She-Hulk for lol

Out of context the spoilers were a bummer for sure. That said, still a day one cop for me and I bet they still out together a dope story. I have faith in ND.

What cracks me up the most on Reddit are the people who are so salty they switched up their whole steez there are so many people now claiming they never wanted a sequel anyway and that the story should’ve always been one game and ND is greedy. Funny I never seen them when the game was announced, trailer/demo dropped and when the push back on the release dates were announced but now suddenly there’s this big/loud group of fans appearing out of nowhere who were always upset a sequel was being made. Then there’s the group of people that now are so pissed there even hating the first game now. fukking losers.

Don’t get me wrong, Joel and Ellie are two of my favorite characters ever and ideally I’d want both of them to always survive but Druckman is taking a big swing and not playing it safe so we’ll see how it turns out. I been trying to compare it to game of thrones. If we got told out of context that Robb Stark dies before the red wedding we’d be salty but that ends up being a very impactful super piff part of the story. Or if we were told ahead of time Theon was gonna suffer later on for betraying Robb we would’ve been like good fukk him, but then upon actually seeing what Ramsay did to him we were like :picard::whoa:

So while, like I said, bummed out my man Joel got Xd out, if they do it right and it’s real impactful and makes us invest more in the game then I’ll be ok with it.

:dwillhuh:

The villain? The Fireflies were going to do this against her will. Joel's story wasn't that far off. She wasn't the only person who's immune to the fungus.

If they didn't make a sequel, I'd have been fine with it. When they announced a sequel, some people were hoping that it would have a different perspective. Joel and Ellie were were not the only people impacted. This reads like bad fan fiction.

And we've known Ellie was a dyke since the DLC. She's a full fledged on in this with a bisexual girlfriend who's pregnant with someone else's child.

No, it doesn't.

You don't promote something as a sequel, kill both characters (allededgly) from the first game, make you play as said murderer 99% of the players don't give a fukk about and say ":ufdup:that's the consequence for muder."

It's a video game. And MSG 2 almost got killed for that and only switched out for character. They didn't kill Snake, have Raiden be the killer and make you play the rest of the game as him.

This is the definition of doign too much.

Not to mention this went from saving the world to personal vendetta's

Yeah, fireflies where harvesting innocent people for a cure that is beyond useless. Fed them a bunch of bullshyt. World infrastructure was already destroyed and cure doesn't change that. The immune above all else have to live and proliferate in an setting like this. Joel did the right thing. What the Fireflies where doing was nonsensical and delusional.

This game seems perfect for idiots that think Joel is the villian because he viewed Ellie's life as precious and saw through the Fireflies bs.

The sequel just doesn't seem for me. They wrote themselves into a corner with the end of Last of Us and makes matter worse that they copped it out with lore detailing that Fireflies harvested 3 other innocent immune.

They moronically took away the ambiguities of the ending. So, It was pretty cut and dry. I didn't think they needed that to be the focal point of the sequel.

Thank you. There wasn't a government. There wasn't any infrastructure to support the development and dissemination of a vaccine.

Even then... Who where they are gonna give a vaccine to anyways? Doesn't really stop a bunch of clickers/runners from eating our your carotid artery and killing you.

shyt was dumb. I was hoping the sequel would be something different, but it's basically Walking Dead quality plot and stakes.

I mean it sounds better than Ellie being a Lesiban surrogate a majority of the game, dealing with a baby, and Joel dying protecting her, but not by much. That was the game I was sort of expecting and made the most sense with a real sense of relatable drama of highs and lows.

Last of Us always had some wack logic gaps.
