The spoiler I read, that looked like a nahc4 screenshot, there's supposed to be a whole town (or group) of immune people.

They really ruins the serie because that's what Joel lied and said.

I think the first game is overrated, but, damn, they let their fans down.

I don't know if someone addressed this later in the thread, but their was content at the end of the first game that's easily missed that explains ellie wasn't the first immune person they got their hands on. they'd all died during the operation process the fireflies were trying to do

breh I just went searching for the recording I remember them saying something like that. but on youtube I can't find it

I was certain there was a recording like that in the hospital and there are comments saying the same in the videos I watched so maybe the specific wording confused some people when they try to recall it months/years later.

Games, shows, movies etc. that move on from their iconic characters for new ones set in the same universe almost never do well because the new characters never live up to the past ones. Playing as someone who comes across Ellie or Joel sounds like what Telltale did with Season 3 of TWD which was so bad they retconned the entire season in the final one.

Read spoilers. Don’t care. Joel been a villain. People romanticizing tf outta him like he wasn't a pos and could’ve easily died several times in the first TLOU. I Trust in Naughty Dogs component storytelling.

these idiots could of made it about Abby from get go and have Joel and elle in it as a surprise
Like show her parents death and how Abby is and her life then like half way in do the Joel death and her hunting elle

or just don’t make u play as Abby and keep focus on Joel and Elle then do the abby vs Elle at end with u as Elle and take the damn L and end game right before she decides to kill dina and have elle yell No black screen Last of Us 2

Him dying fits with the world they are in. There are consequences to your actions. I'm willing to give Abby a chance, it's just something they could have mentioned at E3 two years ago. If the story is good, which is why the majority of people are playing this game, then I don't mind. But don't have people thinking it's going to be the Ellie show.

I’ve only seen parts of the OG game and the prequel but I know the general premise. I can sort of wrap my mind around reckless pandering but killing off Ellie and Joel while forcing fans to spend half of the game as their killer is a horrendous business decision that makes season 8 of GOT look like season 1 of GOT. The entire premise of the series is Ellie’s immunity as well as Joel’s role as her protector and father figure.

This game utterly annihilates all of that. How could they have thought people would like this?

Breh your talking Without playing the previous game?? There isn’t anything inherently wrong with the premise as tlou set this type of world up . However it is all about the execution which may or may not be botched

I have no issue Joel dead I mean we all had a feeling he would but not that way and almost 50% of the game is me playing as a character I don’t give a shyt about killing the iconic hero from the 1st game nah I’m good i won’t be buying this but imma keep my ear out

Joel dying brutally isnt the problem and is the proper way for him to go considering the series.

The problem is having to control his killer right after.

This wouldn't be so bad if Abby was the protagonist from the start and killing Joel happens halfway through the game after you've built a connection with Abby and understand her reason for revenge. Then they could have switched to ellie and have you kill Abby at the end. That would have been a much more emotional conclusion since you had time to connect with both characters.

The entire story would work better if they flipped the roles of abby and ellie.

Abby should have been advertised as the main character from the jump with no clue of joel and ellie being in the game and then taking control of ellie halfway through to kill abby should have been the twist.

So what I've read so far is;

Joel got his head caved in with a golf club by a very swole bulldagger dyke named Abby.
(I doubt it's a tranny because who in a post apocalyptic world has time to get hormones and surgery).

Abby did it as revenge because Joel killed her father (one of the doctors in TLOU).

You the first half of the game as Ellie. Then the second half as Abby.

Ellie gets her ass beat by Abby. Only saved because her friend is up the duff.

People say TLOU had great storytelling.

This is another Pokémon Sword & Shield situation, people are just pissed off, and they’re 100% gonna buy this game, some of them will even lie about it.
The Last of Us will be fine sales wise.

That's the thing. I remember Battlefield V. People said that they weren't going to buy it. Still sold 7m+ copies.
