Someone that hasn't played the game has the 3rd most posts in this thread with nothing but criticisms:unimpressed:

From what I seen they made Joel and tommy look weak to big up the strong woman narrative
The same tommy and Joel who battled the worst of the worst from the first game
How did either of them look weak?

Joel walked into a room where he and Tommy were outnumbered like 8 to 2, within 15 seconds of entering the room he gets a shotgun to the leg.

Abby sneaks into a building and gets the drop on Tommy.

You make it seem like they got washed in a 1 on 1:gucci:

Speaking as someone that never played TLOU1, I watched a playthrough out of curiosity because of how angry people got after the leaks. The story is really contrived. Joel dying didn’t have emotional impact on me but the writing leading up to his death was so cheesy to me...I saw it coming as soon as he rescued Abby. In fact, a lot of the writing is pretty flat because a lot of things just happen without any real build up or payoff.
You didn't play the first one, of course it wouldn't have had an emotional impact on you.

It's like not watching Star Wars and then watching a summary of Return of the Jedi and going "I don't get the big deal about Darth telling Luke the he's his dad, didn't have much of an emotional impact:yeshrug:"

:umad:

The fact you had to edit out what I wrote about the game Days Gone proves I’m 100% right and you’re just in your feelings because it makes no sense that the year 2037 in a post apocalypse world people will be traveling around on horses
But everyone riding motorcycles and mountain bikes in a world where some streets are outright destroyed or you need to cross bodies of water makes sense:unimpressed:

Even though it’s not confirmed, isn’t it basically implied that Abby was transgender? I thought that’s why she had such a connection to Lev (who was also Trans)?
I dunno it just would make more sense why Abby had such a connection to Lev specifically.

I mean, Lev saved her life. If she doesn't take them out with the crossbow, Abby dies. I feel like if anyone saves your life, there's a connection where you want to make sure that they're good.

There's nothing to indicate that she's not a woman.

She lives in a Football stadium and is the WLF's top soldier, she probably can get whatever she wants. You see how they skip the food line :heh:
Holy shyt gamers are fukking stupid. :dead:

Abby lives in the fukking Seattle Seahawks stadium where she had unlimited access to their training facility. Inside her and Manny’s suite she has weights right next to her bed. Not to mention the WLF raised their own cows in the stadium. :dead:

she’s wasn’t starving.

EcCcjYwXgAMO4IX

Abby father gets killed, she dedicates the next four years of her life training to kill the man that did it in a facility with weights, a farm where they grow vegetables and livestock where someone with her status gets to cut in line to eat burritos all the time. The idea that she wouldn't be able to have muscle is dumb as fukk.

The game is a 6/10 based on this. I get the direction they were going with the "revenge is bad" narrative but it was poorly executed and suffered from terrible pacing. The moment in Ellie's story where you encounter Abby the first time at the climax of the game, they stupidly ruin it by reverting back to Day 1 in Abby's story which completely takes you out the moment and forces you to play as Abby for 10 hrs just to get back to that spot just for Ellie to get her ass beat. :martin:

It works for me because when Abby shows up when your'e Ellie, you hate her, she's the piece of shyt that killed Joel. But after you play through her story, you understand how killing Joel was something she felt she needed to do and seeing her go through all the shyt she went through just to have everyone she cared for killed by Ellie/Tommy/Dina, that scene at the theater becomes completely different. You understand why she's on some :demonic:shyt and is pulling the trigger at everything that moves.

Also would have loved for Ellie and Abby to have had an actual dialogue at the end about how fighting each other is pointless and costed them both so much but nah Ellie was just like "Take him" and Abby just dipped :snoop:
Nah, I don't think after something like that, the two of them could just sit down and just talk it out.

They didn't need to dedicate 10 hrs of gameplay to Abby for us to understand where she's coming from

1) The community was never going to like or sympathize with Abby over Ellie because we're too attached to Ellie and Joel's side of the perspective

2) It takes away gameplay time with Ellie who everyone was heavily anticipating to play as for the whole game not half of it, Abby actually ended up having more of the fun action filled levels that should have been for Ellie

Game just switched to Abbys point of view..

so her pops was the surgeon?? :ohhh::ohhh:

And I knew the sista wasnt cool with what they were doing to Ellie :francis:

So Let me get this straight Joel attacked the brotha in the first game and pulled a gun out on him for trying to make sure his little brother was okay while zombies came to attack and wouldnt tell them his name :mjpls:

Killed a sista at the end of the game who was just as pissed about the Ellie situation as he was. :mjpls:

Wouldnt stop for another brotha who was faking ill in the middle of the road in the first game. He smelled ambush immediately when he seen one of us. :mjpls:

But he trusted Abby though and told her his government name huh :mjpls:

Abby be letting the homies get it in for the night and have the room :obama:

And the leader of their whole clique is one of us. :jbhmm:

I hate to say it brehs but shyt Abby was right to crack Joel shyt open :yeshrug:

The way Naughty Dog went about it though was trash. Joel and Tommy save HER ass when the zombies come to attack and Tommy decides in the middle of all of that was the time to expose their identity to a complete stranger about to roam right into their town :mjlol:
They know their asses shouldve been heading back to town since everyone is now starting a search for them but nah we going to travel to this random buff ass chicks hideout where she made sure to mention there was more of them :mjlol:
Tommy gets there and immediately offers all of them to come back to their town and take vital supplies to restock before they just “pass by” im sorry but how is anyone who played the first game buying any of this shyt?:russ:
They didnt even know what Joel looked like. He just literally landed right in their lap and they just assumed that was him based off first name and location and Tommy gives both to them without a care in the world. Joel told Tommy everything that he did so he should be more than aware that they need to hide their identity. :mjlol: Just lazy ass writing.

Edit: So the group really was looking for Tommy based off of a lead. When Tommy introduces himself to the group there is no reaction from anyone. Once Joel does though everyone realizes? Idk brehs.

Its a fukking game. None of this shyt is real. Clickers are damn near biologically impossible the premise of the whole thing is not based in reality. Its.a.fukking.Game. And he's sending death threats over it.

I don't think it needed to be an either or though. Both are women that are seeking revenge for their murdered fathers in a fukked up world where in a lot of situations, right or wrong just depends on what side you're on.

In the first game, when you're Ellie, you can overhear a conversation where someone is talking about stories he's heard about a guy with a little girl and how the girl is out here just fukking people up. I remember thinking how terrifying Joel and Ellie must be to people that hear about them, that Joel and Ellie are only the "good" guys because we're controlling them, but they're no different than a majority of people in the world, just trying to survive, get from point a to b without getting killed by a clicker or someone over a bottle of alcohol.

The way Naughty Dog went about it though was trash. Joel and Tommy save HER ass when the zombies come to attack and Tommy decides in the middle of all of that was the time to expose their identity to a complete stranger about to roam right into their town :mjlol:

There's a blizzard going on, why would they be heading back in the middle of a blizzard? They were going back to her place to wait it out.

Tommy gets there and immediately offers all of them to come back to their town and take vital supplies to restock before they just “pass by” im sorry but how is anyone who played the first game buying any of this shyt?:russ:

There's multiple mentions of the game of people coming through Jackson to pick up supplies while on their travels. The end of the game, Joel mentions trading some shyt for some coffee beans with a group of people passing through.

They didnt even know what Joel looked like. He just literally landed right in their lap and they just assumed that was him based off first name and location and Tommy gives both to them without a care in the world. I'd assume they had some type of idea of what he may have looked like. The Rattler gives a good enough description of Abby to Ellie to let her know that he's talking about the right person.

If a lead tells you that the Joel they're looking is in a town called Jackson, you're right outside Jackson and a guy that fits the age range and physical description introduces himself as Joel, it's probably a good chance that's the guy.

Was there anything saying the lead had them looking for Tommy?

Yeah they were trading with people they knew. These were random people settling right next door to them and Joel is this trusting of them immediately? Theyre grown ass men they could hold their own :mjlol: hell they were the ones that saved Abbys ass. They didnt NEED to go to her hideout the plot needed Joel to die so thats what happened breh. Ellie also was able to mob in this same blizzard dolo to watch Joel die cause the plot said so. :russ:

Exactly and the training facilities are full of supplements to support dozens of grown men on a team. The outbreak started at the beginning of the NFL season. The WLFs have an entire hospital which probably has access to PEDs. And shes eating clean because thats all they have access to. Nobody is making candy and cookies anymore.

And outside of doing patrols...she ain't got shyt else to do but lift all day. I'm surprised there arent a ton of swole ass people in the WLFs.

Honestly I think Joel was done. He became a shell of himself after his relationship with Ellie was destroyed. He didn't care about living anymore so he didn't give a fukk about giving his name to randoms. That's my opinion :yeshrug:

GREAT breakdown of things and Probably the best iv seen yet, especially about the dreams and the ending/Ellie’s decision to go after Abby, like I’v said before, to say you don’t like this story, or it’s direction is understandable, but to say it’s writing is shyt is crazy to me, from someone who didn’t complete like the ending and always thought it would be better for Ellie to kill Abby...this guy makes a lot of sense on why it’s better she didn’t

they did need to go there for shelter tho? that herd? In that blizzard? Lol

and yeah they knew where Tommy was at, knew that was Joel’s brother, and ran into two dudes called Tommy & Joel, I don’t think it’s as crazy as people say :yeshrug:

Those aren't the only games with very low user scores. Modern Warfare which only released less than a year ago has a very low user score and I'm sure that game isn't trash but people like to use w/e controversy is hot at the moment to mass review a game to lower numbers.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 2 for PS3/360 has a 6.5 user score, which is pretty low. We gonna say MW2 is a trash shooting game? People are spiteful and will use w/e lame excuse to shyt on anything for any reason.

I say this to say, judging a game by it's user score alone is silly as it doesn't tell the full picture. I know about GTA V's online launch, I played it.

again I don’t disagree with you on there being trolls out here giving certain games ridiculous low ratings

but you also have to admit that this game received more then it’s 0 - 1 ratings because of ND & the individuals who they gave the game 1st to review it which damn near every one of them gave it a 10 outta 10 and call the one of the greatest games of all times - yet Damn same reviewers wasn’t allowed to talk about the majority of the storyline .... which eventually piss people off
