British actors never seem out of place in period pieces regardless of the nationality of the characters. we've been programmed to accept that. Ben Afflecks look out of place though. Remember when Matt Damon was the hero of a movie called "The Great Wall" and Tom Cruise was "The Last Samurai?"

Tom Cruise wasn’t the Last Samurai though. He was a man who was befriended by the last samurai. He was always just a cac. I know it’s funny to say jokingly but if you’re going to try and make a point of merit then it fizzles out.
