This is something that other people are running with.

Kendrick is NOT trying to be the "next" 2pac, he's trying to do what Pac couldn't. Reconcile his own duality without self destructing.

That's not making a comparison, that's being inspired, which is what Pac wanted. He wanted to people to pick up what he put down and tweak it with their own vision...not be "next" or a replay.

How would one bring about change in the world by being just like Pac?

Whoever that person is who picks up that "spark" is going to have to do something different with it besides be an unnecessary martyr.

For those saying he doesn't have enough bravado or he's too "soft", plays the background too much, too humble don't understand that those are the qualities that will allow him to live longer than the nikka that he feels gave him his purpose. And will also serve as a better example to his generation as to how to move forward.

You would think with all the bullshyt @PhonZhi talks about negative influences he would see the bigger picture here.
dont get mad now cuz ya boy gettin that work in this thread:umad:

Kendrick is seen as a "messiah" MAINLY due to how shytty everybody else is and how diluted everyone else's content is. This isn't a hate thread either but at the same time i know when im being forced to like something. There's other rappers in Kendrick's lane that i prefer over him. Just because he's "different" doesn't mean i have to ride his dyck. Again, this isn't a hate thread. I just find the comparisons to Pac laughable.

Meanwhile Kendrick lost some points when he tried to speak that "respectability" bullshyt that cacs love to use against us, he's got some outstanding music but socially he's nowhere near Pac in that field.

Did Pac lose points when he was saying the same shyt?

2pac said:
And they say it's the white man I should fear, but it's my own kind doing all the killing here.

2pac said:
USE YOUR BRAIN!! USE YOUR BRAIN!!!!!!!! IT'S NOT THEM THAT'S KNOCKING US OFF, IT'S US THAT'S KNOCKING US OFF

Like I said were yall really listening? Or were you lost in the whirlwind?

J Cole is way more of a Pac than Kendrick

Kendrick holds back too much in fear of losing his white fans to be compared to 2Pac.

To further add, Pac just LOOKED the part. He wasn't physically intimidating but he still had a presence about him that might have made you think twice about fukking with him. Kendrick on the other hand literally looks like a little boy. He doesn't have a manly presence or vibe about him at all. Even though Pac was what 5'9ish 170 range, he still had the presence of somebody Shaq's size. You're gonna KNOW when Pac is in the room, Kendrick.....not so much.

There's a difference between respecting ourselves vs respecting ourselves so others will treat us better. Tupac spoke out against police brutality and racism without laying the blame on us, unlike now where you have black folks who try to play both sides of the fence.

Never said it was a hate thread.

I'm saying that making this about straight song for song/style comparison or even some who was more intimidating... is some simpleton shyt, and not really the basis for the comparison's being made by the fans, or the basis of Kendrick's inspiration.

FYI, you can check my post history, i'm not a huge KDot fan. I'm on record calling GKMC overrated and not really fukkin with TPAB, i'm just seeing the shyt with a wide lens.

It ain't about diluted content or "different" it's about him addressing his humanity and contradictions in a way that is relevant to THIS generation of black youth. He's not meant to meant to reflect who, or what Pac was reflecting because things have changed.

If you were to say that in a 2pac/Kendrick comparison that he falls short artistically and as far as being convincing then I'd agree wholeheartedly...saying the "comparison is crazy" in regards to "this generations ____" just makes it seem like you have tunnel vision. I don't consider him 2pac of this generation but I do see that he's moving with deliberate intent to explore his own duality and the culture's at large using his art. What other rapper in Kendrick's "lane" is doing that?

Can't say Lupe because they aren't in the same graduating class.
