I clicked the thread to laugh at the replies, and now I'm letting wondering... How does a writer for NYT, author of the 1619 Project, who writes about the various Black experiences in America, not know the differences between race, ethnicity, and nationality? At first I thought she was just playing dumb because she didn't want to agree with Levin's point at all since he is on the right, but then I saw as I kept scrolling that nope, babygirl really has no idea on the differences.
I'm voting Biden/Harris regardless but since the announcement, there's been a serious uptick in blue check black folks who are pushing that tired ass narrative of if you're not supporting her then you're trying to keep black women from prospering shyt. I'm not a fan of hers because she's black (or Indian). Her record on criminal justice and comments she's made in reference to prison labor and her unwillingness to prosecute Steven Mnuchin being super vague about why not is enough reason her record being scrutinized. Be prepared. It's think piece season

Above the fray.
the hate yall have for middle class black people is :wow:
During the riots many people were promoting / justifying the destruction of Black owned businesses. Putting Black workers out of work, and causing Black business owners to lose their livelihoods.

Some of these folks don't give a fukk about ethnic pride or solidarity. Otherwise they wouldn't have called for the destruction of businesses owned by or employing AAs. They resent the success of their own people. So shytting on successful Islanders/Africans is an extension of that.

It is what is.

Nobody ever attacked black immigrants. We only asked you to do two things that you have a problem with both those things

1. Understand our plight from From a historical perspective.Understand that we are not immigrants I did not choose to come here.

2. Check the people in your own communities who are used to disrespect us. If you don’t we will assume that you side with them.
I’m not referring to people like you I’m referring to people like Yvette c00nell and c00ntalks

The issue with Kamala is not the fact that she is not ADOS but that COMBINED with her shytty record as a DA and AG should be a red flag for every black person.

Yet nikkas want to cape for Biden and Harris. Two people who've made their careers off locking black folks up.

The Congressional Black Caucus senators and reps also supported/signed the crime bill. Plenty of blame to go around on that shyt.

She does not fukk with reparations for black peoples

She was one of those black people who told AA’s to shut up and sit down when it was first talked about. What AA does that?

Does Trump support reparations?

Not a big fan of her at all, but Trump gotta go.

What's crazy is all the media had to do is say someone is the first black, and people go crazy, but Kamala was exposed for her fukked up record last year, it seems all of that is forgotten

Man, black people have the shortest memories when it comes to our enemies. I just have to accept it's gonna be over for us, and we will be a permanent underclass, if we don't wake up in this decade.

It hurts me because it looks like we did this one to ourselves, it's not hard to unite under what's right, and vote or dont vote until we get whats due for us, but we can't even do that.

Narcissism has really taken over, but we're losing, we cant take on those characteristics. You never know what will happen, though, look at this covid shyt, maybe it's a bigger spiritual picture I don't see yet

Get off twitter. We are not thinking about you. We are too inclusive. ADOS ending white supremacy? Jesus crust. That's a tall task. Who are you and where are you from? What is your stake in ADOS getting reparations?

That ending white supremacy part is funny. That is why ask who you are and where you are from.

ADOS has to end white supremacy :wow:

I don't know who you are or where you are from but you can help to end white supremacy at anytime. Nobody is stopping you. Stop looking for us to carry skin folk to the finish line ALL THE TIME. Jesus yall really our sons :mjlol:
You sound like a coward. If you’re terrified of whites people just say so you bytch

This is true to an extent. The Chicago Black elite, as powerful as they are, don't run the West Coast though. Kamala solidly fit the role you are describing roughly from her time starting in SF with Willie Brown (minus the relationship) up through becoming SF AG. Once she went statewide, a whole different set of non-Black actors, patrons, and stakeholders came into play. I have no doubt Jarrett, etc. are on her side but don't think she owes them or is going to be influenced by them like Obama. San Fran isn't to California what Chicago is to Illinois. Black elite influence were not going to clinch that state. Obama's Silicon Valley ties probably helped but I would temper her Black-elite backing story at this juncture.

Case in point her husband, Doug Emhoff. I don't dispute they love each other and am not deriding their relationship but from a political perspective, their marriage helped gain her the confidence of the SoCal liberals and Jewish elites which is huge in California for a statewide politician, much more so than the Black elite in northern or southern California. In fact, one could argue amongst a certain part of the California liberal elite, having a Black husband may have pigeonholed her. This isn't the same dynamics Obama operated under.
Obama had no connection to Chicago area elite or national Black elite organizations. Valerie Jarret was his liaison, and she helped him break through the Clinton reach and influence in Black circles of power. No small task.
As a US Senator, Barack was courted by and backed by several interests, many of whom who also backed Sen. Clinton. One of the ace cards, perhaps the biggest one was that full support of the Chicago elite and support from national Black organizations. He doesn't beat Hillary in the primary without their support and pull.

Kamala is a card carrying member and affiliate of the powerful Black organizations and families.
True, she was groomed by west coast/northern Cali interest groups, but she is plugged into several Black networks that other current 2024 candidates are not. In other words, the North Cali backers cannot "make another Hov". Those affiliations help Kamala, and in turn she helps make those Black networks and brokers more valuable/influential in politics.

So her mom is full indian, her dad is mulatto? :dead:

Yeah breh :snoop: it gets weird because his carribean side is mixed with indian. So he's really 50% white 25 % indian and 25% carribean. Her mom is 100% indian. Shes 10% black at the most.

She's married to a cac and has kids that look 100% Cac :bryan:

All that marching we did and this is what we got. :bryan:

I will never vote gop as long as I live

But that’s facts. A lot of people were wearing the AA costume to get where they were and as soon as reparations was talked about again they threw respectability politics bullshyt on AA’s. Then switched up when they realized how dumb they were sounding

I don’t like this bytch but I will vote for Biden. I won’t forget about her laughing off doing shyt for black people but then Offering things for other groups. She has treated her black heritage like it slowed her down her whole career. fukk her respectively. fukk the black people who were talking down reparations as well

Why is the detail about her ancestry important right now?

Trump is a German immigrant. He married eastern European women.

He's in office.

Tanehesi Coates proclaimed him the "First White President"

Trump is neither an English descendant of the Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock.

Neither an English descendant of the Cavaliers of Jamestown.

If South Florida Cubans are subsumed under "whiteness" with no type of nordic European ancestry whatsoever, I don't understand the problem with Kamala?

People don't bat an eye at the classification of Ted Cruz being white, when he's actually latin.

This stuff about there being "white" Hispanics is bullshyt considering 100 years ago, the "creators" of whiteness did not extend the identity of whiteness to those of latin or sub-nordic European descent.

White people wield the identity of whiteness to their gain.

And wield the identity of blackness always for some bullshyt.

At the turn of the 19th century, prominent black New England businessman became interested in going back to and resettling Africa. They started a movement.

White southern planters, who formed the American Colonization Society, saw that movement as a vehicle to send black people, free or enslaved, back to Africa.

The black New England businessmen, after learning about how the ACS coopted their movement, pumped their breaks and said "nah, we're staying right here....America is rightfully ours." They got on code.

Learn from history.

Don't be caught our here co-signing white supremacists who are now co-opting y'all nationalistic movement for their own gain.

She is 75% Indian and was raised by Indians. She has zero connection to the black community besides going to Howard and bring an AKA. She is not black, and has made it clear she will do nothing for the black community.
