Fatigue is definitely a factor. Only an offseason break can reset these guys; no amount of days between games is going to suddenly make them 'new' again.

That statement goes for the 78th game of the season just as much as right now. Maybe moreso because you aren’t getting 2 days off between games consistently during the regular season.

You are talking fatigue due to the length of play this year, not due to anything happening this particular series.

You are talking fatigue due to the length of play this year, not due to anything happening this particular series.
No amount of days off is going to erase the accumulation of physical and mental drain that comes with the entirety of an 82 game regular season, and all the playoff series' on top of that (which are even more taxing). The players can't just switch off on a day off, especially in a series like this. I think this is even more applicable to a team like the Warriors whose core players have a ton more mileage on their respective bodies than the Celtics' do.

They can try to fill their gas tanks on the days off, but they'll never be able to run as efficiently as they would earlier from that point.
