Your friends problem was lack of discipline, not the internet or any of the technology he cut himself off from.

I work out at least 3 times a week, I'm in shape, and I still find time to watch my Sunday shows or a few games on TV every once and a while, and play 360 if I'm bored.

Your friend lacked discipline and direction. But that's most of fatass lazy America so he should'nt feel too bad about it.

He had discipline and direction in videogames. He had the highest achievement score, and he literally bought games just for achievement scores. He also knew so much about sports.

he had an obsessive addiction to videogames and sports. That is just his personality.

Now he has an obsessive addiction to long-distance running, healthy eating and cycling.

in the age before the internet, people had healthy hobbies like cars, minatures, city league sports, brigde or other card games, dancing, science, reading, weekend social clubs, church, gardening, carpentry, music.

You telling me that is no different than 24-hour netflix streaming, non-stop access to porn and jacking-off, youtube, wacraft, Message board addictions, facebook attention whoring , Reddit, 4(han ...?

The crazy part is, they used to be the freaks\deviants of the global sex culture...I think they still are....This may have a propaganda angle to gain hits

i used watch anime in the 80s and early 90s. it feels different now. It was more cutting edge, darker, adult. The art was more "gritty", the women characters were more mature and sexy. Now, the women always have child-like proportions and everything centers around "cuteness". The themes and stories seem really childish now too.

In Zeta gundam almost all the main characters died and Kamile had his brain scrambled. It ended on the most depressing note possible.

Kamile had his parents crushed alive right infront of him during the first episode.

They remade Zeta for today's generation and gave it a happy ending? WTF? Are peope too weak
To handle realistic stories now?

All that naruto shyt and like looks like little kids cartoon. Just feels different.

Do you see pornography as "unequivocally causing disruptions among the psyche of young women" as well?

If those statistics are true, then yes

Especially "Women, far more than men, are likely to act out their behaviors in real life, such as having multiple partners, casual sex, or affairs". Clearly porn is the source of some sort of behavioral riff

I don't think you have enough direct causation to make that claim

Great article...

I think of this and then this thread I made describing my own predicament with sex, relationships, and dating.

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/sometimes-i-feel-like-ill-never-have-sex-again.187119/

Shyt, I'm a good looking, tall, athletic, slightly muscular, intelligent, hung like a motherf*cking redwood (no homo) cultured, black male, women check me out...but in this climate, it just feels like I'll never have any sort of flesh and blood relationship with a woman ever again and I've been single for almost 6 years (haven't had sex in almost 2). Not making excuses, but this landscape is extremely difficult to traverse at times.

It doesn't help that I'm not really making that much money either at this point in time...:manny:

I'll be honest, sometimes I wish I could just turn off my sexuality and just be mute...sad to say with how f*cking difficult this shyt is.

I deleted all of my online dating accounts as well. Till I get my life right financially and professionally, I could care less about getting laid.

It's frustrating, depressing, and extremely anger inducing. Especially when I just want to stick my d!kk deep down in some warm wet p*ssy.

Humans have become f*cking worthless pieces of garbage in my eyes lately with this new atmosphere...fukk em all they disappoint me. I'll walk alone.

there's a good amount of research that shows the brain response to porn spikes dopamine levels in a fashion that's identical to hard drugs

survey a classroom of 16 year old boys and i guarantee you 95% will admit to viewing online porn and masturbating to it at least once a day. porn traffic dominates every other internet category by a large margin, and young and sexually immature men are particularly susceptible to it

knowing this, it's no stretch to hypothesize that habitual porn uses (especially younger ones) will lose interest in social interactions and sexual encounters with real women. this hasn't been proven quantitatively yet per se but there's massive amounts of anecdotal evidence including entire forums full of men using high amounts of porn, frustrated with their sex lives (or lack there of) and looking to "reboot"

for you to imply it's an old wives tail is very uniformed imo

Honestly, porn pisses me off and depresses me. Everyone getting laid except me.:why:I just get to hear about everyone's good time while I got nothing but my left and right and that's gotten played out. fukk em all and they can burn in hell.

I don't even check the stuff out anymore...I see so much of it on tumblr I'm just desensitized to it now.:manny:

I just focus on creative shyt and working on myself.

it's not like American sexuality was so healthy in the first place:patrice:

Sex is a weapon and it can be used to build and destroy men and women alike.

There's just way too much vested in it. Most people work there asses off just to make money to meet men/women and f*ck. Also there are studies that show that people who have better sex lives are more healthier mentally and physically, make more money, have more pull in social circles.. I feel like my lack of p*ssy is f*cking me up mentally and physically to the point where seeing couples pisses me off.

Capitalism ruins everything around me.

I think too wide of a brush is being used
1. are we conflating porn addicts and habitual porn viewers when it suits the argument being made?
2. looking at the user base of porn addiction forums, what is the number of porn addicts?

I think it can be disputed, I really don't care too much who's right about this. I'm certainly skeptical that these effects are as prevalent or severe as they are being made out.

Breh..Give it a rest.
