Let’s not forget nggas in here applauded this fukkery…

Tournament of CHAMPIONS :obama: :laff:

These nggas was advocating for Jacksonville st! :what:

What was completely unaccounted for is football ain’t basketball. 5-8 players vs 50+ players is night and day. The talent discrepancy is too high. Upsets during the regular season and meaningless bowl games is fools gold. Underdogs catch teams sleeping, and teams mail in bowl games. But in THIS format, the teams with significant talent edge are going to dog walk these participation trophy teams. CFP and expanded playoff fans are naive
Round of applause, my brother. These Rd1 games are proving you and everyone else right, and it's changing my mind a little bit...

fukk the tournament of champions. I'm cool with 12 teams if they can commit to putting in the 12 BEST teams. If they don't think they can put in the 12 best, it's clear it should be capped at like 8 teams. I'm not sure they'll reduce the teams after one trial run, though...

But they gotta figure out a way to get ONLY the best 12 teams in...

It's the talent gap between top seeds and bottom seeds that increases as you let in worse teams.

Same reason 16 v 1 seed matchups are useless, whereas 8 vs 1 or 4 vs 1 is more competitive.
1. 16 v 1 cannot happen in the first round this tournament in which you are complaining about as there are bye weeks :mjlol:2. As I said the more teams you let in the more parity you're inviting as the further down the top 25 you go the smaller the talent gap is ...again posts like this highlight why you haven't produced one intelligent thought through this entire day....please brother before sending your next post I'm imploring you to actually utilize your brain better than you have thus far

Determining who the "best" teams are will always be a subjective process that people complain about...they did when it was 2 teams they did when it was 4 teams...they would if it was 100 team playoff

Not really once you realize the majority of the teams are second class citizens

They can't insist only the Big 10 and SEC matters then start counting up MAC and Sun Belt teams.
Well that was my point in the post.

100s of teams with different tiers in it.

32 teams, yeah there's some trash teams but even they are loaded with nfl talent.

Ohio State vs Toledo is such a wide disparity talent wise. Yet both are D1.

NFL is much smaller with actual parity, can't use it as a model for a sport like D1 CFB, or as it is currently structured.

imo there's really several tiers to D1.

Maybe it needs to be broken into further divisions with their own playoffs.

No reason the mountain west needs to be in the same playoffs as the SEC/B1G.

G5 should have own playoff, which includes the Big 12 which is basically a G5 now.

SEC/B1G and maybe the ACC should have their own. Or the ACC should dissolve and certain join one of those two while others go to the Big 12 wherever.
I've heard several pundits mention that in the coming years a few more ACC and Big 12 schools could defect to the SEC and Big 10. Specifically over on this end, it's pretty well known that FSU, UNC, Clemson want out of the ACC...

So I guess if more big brand schools join the SEC and Big 10, at that point it would basically be a higher level of Division 1...

if you know that you can get into the playoffs if you win your conference...talent is more likely to spread out throughout the sport because of a greater chance to get in.

and, yeah, i like these match ups and would enjoy it even more if it was only champions, because that would make the conference championships more valuable and the defacto round 1 of the playoffs.

playing your way in 100% >>>>>>>> opinion trophy
You would need to have a conference semifinal for this to work. I’m not really opposed to it

UGA vs Ole miss
bama vs Texas

Oregon vs IU
PSU vs Ohio state

AZ state vs CU
BYU vs Iow st

SMU vs Cuse
UM vs Clemson

conference winners play in a 4 team playoff

Top seeds don't get bye weeks in March madness.... It's a dumb point from an obviously dumb person :mjlol: When you post incompetent things and think they are flying over peoples heads you deserve to be mocked for being that level of slow

You said increasing the number of teams adds parity.

Can you show me how that's been the case this year going to 12 or no?

I want to hear someone as intelligent as you explain how IU, ASU, Boise State SMU ass teams are a value add, or make things more even.

This is true which kinda makes my point from a few weeks back. College football has always had incessant complaining about its postseason because there is no governing body and unclear criteria on who gets in or not. Like you said, it was like that when it was just two teams, it would be like that if it were a 100-team playoff...

So this goes back to my initial point that so long as the FBS model exists, conference champions should get an auto berth. I'm less confident in that take after this weekend's games, than I was a week ago, but I'm still mostly for it...

You’d still run into the elephant in the room, which is the conferences are NOT equal. Especially the SEC. In that scenario the 3rd best SEC team could be a top 5 team going in and lose and be out ——while all 4 big 12 teams aren’t even top 15 but 1 gets in :heh:

I just don’t understand why people are afraid to address the elephant in the room: the SEC is a cluster fukk of talent and creates an imbalance——and then they added Texas :what::snoop:

And as long as that’s in play ANY conference champion mandated system will fail. Period.

Its annoying. Why do we gotta pretend them Bible Belt states that make up the SEC don’t make the best football players? Why the political correctness?!? Why?! :heh::bryan:

You preaching to the choir. I thought 6 SEC teams should’ve been in the playoff this year.

im just trying to offer a compromise

There's no perfect situation for a CFB playoff due to the structure. There's always gonna be asterisks and controversy.
