Football is immune to this... especially college. College is driven more because regular people can say they are a part of OSU or Penn St or whomever because they probably actually went to the school. The loyalty supercedes anything else. No one feels a part of the NBA unless u played or coached etc...

Schools don't also threaten to leave for new locations hundreds or thousands of miles away if they don't get brand new stadiums from local governments.

You can add this one in there as well

These nikkas don't actually watch the sports or have any functioning knowledge of its history....they're emotionally unstable looking for platforms to vent every season :mjlol: which makes these kinds of posts mocking their stupidity even more hilarious...

So, no. I don’t think you guys understand. We’re gonna do this all again NEXT week too

Yea we all knew Bama vs TCU or Notre Dame vs insert SEC team we’re gona be blowouts, but it was only 1 game. With this current format….

——My bad got distracted, Texas just went up 28-10—

with this format we gona see this shyt for two WEEKS. Boise and ASU without an obligatory bye would be underdogs, 10, 12 seeds. So Texas is probably gonna embarrass ASU and PSU will at the very least confuse folk bc they’re gonna look like the clear better team over Boise.

This format will not last more than a few years. And I said that before the games begun

All the writing on the wall is there. The current conference champion/conference alignment/auto bid format will not exist in 10 years. If not 5. Not a chance.

There's always gonna be blowouts in the playoffs. You're arguing just to argue.
:unimpressed:

Sound good. That’s gonna be a hard pill to swallow when this becomes predictable every year. ESPECIALLY with the asinine byes for conference winners

Here’s a scenario: Bama and UGA (Or Oregon-OSU) are 1,2 undefeated. Bama beats UGA in the SEC title game in OT by 3. By default, 11-1 #2 ranked UGA is at best a 5 seed.

They whoop whoever in round 1. Then in round 2 they get 8-3 big 12 champion BYU :obama:They beat the dog shyt out of BYU 49-3. :laff: Rinse repeat. shyt like that is absolutely going to happen (bout to happen with Texas-ASU) and the juelzing will become harder and harder. It will not last

The argument is that the risk of blowouts increases the more teams you let in.
This again makes no sense as by nature of the selection process the more teams you let in the more parity you're inviting as the further down the top 25 you go the smaller the talent gap is. You literally haven't posted one intelligent piece of thought all day so far :mjlol: shyt is hilarious

Who cares about the NFL?
It's football.

NFL has 32 teams

CFB has over 100 in D1

Over 100 in FBS, yes

Also over 100 in FCS and they have a 24 team playoff.

Over 100 in D2 and they have a 28 team playoff.

Over 200 in D3 and they have a 40 team playoff.

And somehow they make space for all conference champions. There is no logical reason to not have all conference champions playing in the playoffs if they are in the same division. The only argument against it is tradition.

It's the talent gap between top seeds and bottom seeds that increases as you let in worse teams.

Same reason 16 v 1 seed matchups are useless, whereas 8 vs 1 and then 4 vs 1 are more competitive.

imo there's really several tiers to D1.

Maybe it needs to be broken into further divisions with their own playoffs.

No reason the mountain west needs to be in the same playoffs as the SEC/B1G.

G5 should have own playoff, which includes the Big 12 which is basically a G5 now.

SEC/B1G and maybe the ACC should have their own. Or the ACC should dissolve and certain join one of those two while others go to the Big 12 wherever.
