This thread is disgusting.

So all the costs that come with making music (production, post-production, recording, mastering, promotion, artwork, distribution, licensing, BMi credits, publishing, copyright, etc) you think that magically pays for itself? You think musicians on labels make music for free? You think record labels stay afloat by putting out music for free? You're a dumbass OP.

it makes no sense on this forum where users are OBSESSED with record sales..

I stopped thinking it was "kewl" to pirate music long ago.

Water, and food are essential to life, SHOULD BE FREE, yet you nikkas don't bytch & complain about paying for them. If the govt wanted to charge you for air, some of would gladly line up to pay for it without complaint

But yet complain about buying music to support Black artists, which has clearly caused Black msuic in general to take a nose-dive.

If you just dl everything you're not a fan of music. You have no respect for the process. It can take 40 hrs just to make a 3 min song, and its shytty to have the opinion that you deserve it for free. What if your job worked like that?

There's enough free mixtapes out there that you can get enough and still buy an album every few months. Or at least use Spotify.

But you're "cool" tho and the rest of us are the idiots

bruh i understand process but i have 10k song on my itunes i would go broke just even payin $0.50 a song

Way I see it is this. Cats buy food in restaurants on a regular basis. Even if it's fast food cats'll drop 5 in th emorning and 10-15 on a pizza later on. If you can drop that in a day for food that's gonna go in one hole and out the other and you'll be hungry again, then you can spend 10 fukkin dollars on a good CD that's gonna last you way longer

I'm scratching my head at the concept that people are too poor to buy a 9 dollar album but have computers and fast enough internet connections to download them.

Also scratching my head at people who make music advocating stealing music.

This whole thread is mind boggling.

Then again I'm 30 and have been through the whole music buying phase of going to music stores in the 90s. Collecting cds, tapes, vinyl, etc.

I never thought I would ever see something like this. It's actually sad. This just shows how little value is placed in music anymore.

These are the same dudes that will get heated if a Black artist flops and an Iggy Azalea starts selling. Gee, I wonder why that could be. :francis: Cause labels will see low numbers, go "I guess his music ain't hot anymore :yeshrug:" and either drop him or throw his ass poppy beats and start PR stunting. And then we'll have a Coli thread about how he's a c00n, tapping for white dollars, and fell off musically.

If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. But to brag about willingly not paying for shyt... At least use Spotify, nikka. :camby: At the end, it should be more about getting the music out, and that's what the artist should be thinking of in the end. Labels don't give a fukk about that, and that's why we get the shyt we do.
