Mobley turnin into a Bam level player except instead of midrange he got a legit 3 now apparently

Health. They core 4 barely missed any games this season. DMitch just was out today but only his 2nd missed game of the season

Last season only Jarrett was consistently healthy for em. Mobley played 50 games. DMitch 55 games. Garland 57 games. Out of core players they been one of the healthiest teams this season so far. That play a big part in continuity and record. They 4 on pace to all play more than 70 games.

And Atkinson a coaching improvement but not to level some making it :mjpls: health and Mobley goin to another level biggest reasons so far

They've had the potential for the last 3 years, for those that were paying attention to them.

Their embarrassment vs the Knicks two years ago in round 1 of the playoffs ("lights were too bright") was their black eye that face-planted the momentum they were building as a team of the future. Last year they went under the radar in part due to how they flamed out vs NYK + an injury plagued 2nd season.

This season they're healthy, have 3 years of familiarity/growth/shared trauma, and a new HC they seem to click with. Garland and Mobley were naturally gonna get better at bball as well given how young they were 3 years ago. Put it all together and it's not surprising that they (healthy) are a 60-win level team.

Hopefully the league follows & understands you can still win with two big men in todays league

At this point, most teams should realize that small ball was only ever a short term solution brought about by the need for more spacing during an era (early-2010s) where most traditional bigs couldn't space the floor to counter how defensives schemes improved their ability to zone up the paint.

i.e. That was the reason the Heat put Battier at the 4, bc Wade and LeBron had no room to drive with Perkins and Ibaka camped out one foot in the paint with no consequence. But 10 years later we've evolved/are at a point where if your power forward/co-big ain't 6'10 to 7 foot with a 3ball, you're an unserious team.

Healthy versions of CLE, BOS, OKC, MIL, DEN, NYK, etc can all play this way if need be.

I’d also think if Vic is the one that was promised teams would also want to have an arsenal of skilled big men
