Any of y’all had the Peach Cobbler Cafe? :lupe:

I keep hearing the radio promos and Grandma talkin spicy asf about the cooking but is the food actually good? :dwillhuh:

Im tempted to get a plate but I’ve never heard of a legit soul food place in Atlanta in Buckhead. :patrice:

Thumbs down. Overpriced as hell. Its basically a fancy cafeteria. Owned by the same bald head nikka that ran U-Bar into the ground. If you wanna pay 18 bucks for 2 pieces of fish, some mac n cheese and some canned greens go right ahead

I tried to support because it is a black business and I got a homie that lives out that way but everything sucked, the customer service, the prices. The food was decent. Think slightly better "This is It". Then i found out that sucka ass nikka Al owned it i never went back

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interracial couple in McDonough. I’m sure it’s some there, but I’ve never came across it.

And we say McDonough is nice because it has a lot to do down there, the schools are decent & you didn’t have to worry about crime. The black population isn’t what Clayton, Fulton or DeKalb is but there is a fair amount of us living there.

The only lilly-white part of McDonough I can think of is the Ola High School zone. Rest of McDonough & Henry seems to have a nice mix of people. When I think about it I’m pretty sure McDonough High School is overwhelmingly African American.

guess it all depends on what part of McDonough you’re in. Of course you’ll see some trump signs and confederate flags but you gotta remember it’s not Clay Co, Fulton or DeKalb.

Anyone raising a family who doesn’t care about not being close to downtown Atlanta should look into McDonough :yeshrug:
I haven't see a lot of interracial couples either, at least not compared to what you'd see on the West Coast. But when I do, it's usually a White male with a Black female, and the Black female be good looking 95% of the time. When I see brothers with White females, it seems to go in and out of style, while being in style for a very short period. And the White girl looks below average most of the time, although the brother will have a good looking one here and there.

I think most of the good comments come from the lower crime rates. But it's not a lot of eye candy there. Although it's more than it use to be, a lot of these sisters mentalities are so negative that you don't even realize they're there anymore. I had more fun in this area when there wasn't as much eye candy, as crazy as that sounds. Some of it is because they brought a lot of negative brothers right with them. Some of the women, even the middle aged ones, act like they're just as scared of you as a frightened White girl. I don't know if they're faking it or what. It's either that, or they don't look in your direction at all, unless you jump in their face. Meanwhile, the White people walk around trying to prove they're not scared of you...but that's only when you're alone.

Oh, and I found the cops to be totally racist in this area altogether, and a lot of Black cops to be c00nish. I would see a Black cop standing at a Walmart exit, telling a White man to have a nice day, with that White man almost acting like he didn't hear him. Then when you walk by the Black cop, he'd look the other way. I'd see Walmart greeters (Black and White) doing the same thing at these Walmart exits...acknowledging White people, and ignoring most of the Black people, unless they worked there. A White cop working one of these exits will actually grit on you, while looking the other direction. I have absolutely no respect for them. It's like why do they even stand so close to the exit with that mindset. Talking about ass backyards.
I'm not sure if I just explained the whole ATL or not :yeshrug:....I hope not. But I did lose my desire to move closer to, or even inside the city, a little while back. Wasn't expecting that. I definitely don't want to hop out the pan and into the fire.

Now married Black couples may see things altogether different in this area. And it's easier for them to move to a better part of McDonough or Henry County.

Breh I used to swear by This is It, especially the one on Camp Creek but the food started progressively getting worse the last few years specifically the pulled chicken sandwich and sides. It went from juicy BBQ white chicken medallions with great Mac and cheese and baked beans to mediocre mixed white and dark chicken meat to just straight up entrails and slop :scust: I’m low key never going back

It’s almost as bad as all these crab leg spots and none of them know how to cook seafood SMH

Atlanta is the home of overpriced underperforming soul food.

Alotta the spots I used to eat at growing up either no longer exist (Cascade Grill, Bankhead Seafood is coming back soon tho) or are just not good (The Beautiful, JJ’s Rib Shack). Busy Bee’s is ok but I don’t even really eat soul food like that unless my wife or my in laws are cooking

Now that you mentioned it, most of the good comments in this thread are about places outside of the Southside.

No offense to the Southside brehs but me and my boys constantly got into some bullshyt down there. From 08-14 nikkaz was gettin set up and robbed, shoot outs, smoked out hole in the wall clubs you name it we was on that shyt. Lost one of my boys on the Southside RIP. From Virginia Ave to Tara Blvd, Cleveland Ave to Hampton, Ga, Mt. Zion, Jonesboro, Morrow, Forest Park…I legit can’t stand that side of town. Shout out College Park tho and some of East Point and that’s it

This is it on Camp Creek is gourmet compared to the one on Memorial Drive. Memorial Drive goes cheap with meat and veggies and try to season and sauce it to death make up for the low quality
